New Level (Adv) - Conveyor Purveyor

Post by TheoX » Thu Aug 14, 2014 6:11 am

Hello everyone! This level is a straightforward 14x14 puzzler, no hidden objects or glitches this time. I think I might have made it kind of hard, but I can't be the judge of that. I hope it's a good test of the brain! 8) Be warned that there's two "quick" movements needed in the level (to my knowledge).

Please download popo's "Industrial" texture to accompany the level, if you don't already have it.

Have fun! :)

And I was thinking that I will get this the first time...

After about 200 attempts, Qookie and Loof were safely home.

What a brilliant, creative and brave new idea!

Thanks!

Words are not enough to describe the experience! 8)

Thank you, my friend! :D

I only wish, Amnon.

I'm so jealous and envious of a certain somebody in San Francisco right now. :P

Apparently my solution was different than yours, Mark.

If you ended up with three metal boxes on the series of buttons, then you probably did it like me, but if you ended up with two metal boxes on the series of buttons with a boulder in between, then you probably did it like Mark.

We'll have to wait until Theo gets home from work to find out. So now we wait... :?

My solution has only two "quick" moves, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Hey guys! Thanks so much for the comments, and for playing through this! I'm really glad that you both enjoyed the puzzle! :D

Mark solved it the way I did. It's interesting that you can cover the buttons that way, Amnon. I hadn't tried that, but I will now! I'm guessing that you used the steel box on the left to cover buttons, and pushed a boulder to the water area instead. I hope you still had no objects "left over", aside from the steel box in the top left.

Thanks again Mark for making this video solution, for anyone who wants it:

Defeat

Post by Jutomi » Fri Aug 15, 2014 2:02 am

I conceited defeat from the first glance at this.

My mind's too into WA at the moment, and by the time I'd be done, I'd be doing the up-to-date levels in the future. :P
Your only little stinker that's absolutely NOT a z-bot by this name,

Also, if you want to see my level list, here it is! :D

Oh, and my YT wonderland channel. Forgot about that.

True, Theo, I had no left-overs. I used the steel box on the left to cover the buttons on the right and the boulder went left to the water-area, where Qookie later pushed it down in the water.

Don't sweat it! It's pretty hard. But if you ever feel like straining your brain... you know where to look.

I have just played the level through again and this solution indeed works! Though I actually found it harder for some reason. It requires one less quick move, but a great deal more planning (for me, at least). It took me a long time to figure out how to push the left steel box around without killing myself or getting into a box quandary.

Just for fun, I went back and played it Amnon's way.
It took some crafty & nifty moves with that left box. 8)

Well, I've been enjoying this level all day long.
It's been a fun puzzle, that keeps challenging me.

Thanks again, Theo! :)

Thank you, Theo! You have definitely inspired me! 8)

When I get around to making a new level, I will try to make it
small fair and logical with no glitches or hidden items like you.
But I may throw in a quick move or two, just like you too.

Just one quick question for you...

Your name on the forum is TheoX, but on your levels it's TheoB.
I'm curious to the significance of the the X and the B. :?

I'm looking back at this for some reason at work today, and figured I should answer Mark's unanswered question. In the original RTW I named my levels Theo 1, 2 , etc. Once I switched to making Deluxe edition levels, I titled them "B" to denote that they were something different from the original level set. I probably didn't need to do that and I always wondered if people would think it was confusing.

EDIT: And the "X" is something my whole family does for their usernames; I believe my sister Katja went by KatjaX in her brief stint in level-making a long time ago.
