I can free all boomers and get some over the water too.
I can walk up the pow power
and release the turtles in a good way to the water
but not in the best way
cos I can't reach the middle with the 3 bridges and the kegs.
I can brr 1 piece north of the top bridge but I'm still 1 piece too short to get on the bridges (or 1 turtle too short)
Or I need another order to direct the turtles into the water


How will help me?

I completed this one yesterday. I was having the same trouble as you, always one turtle short. I had tried to find a place to stand that I could brr an ice tile so I wouldn't need another turtle, but couldn't find one. In the end I had to totally rethink my strategy, and do some preserving before I even started on the turtle area.

You do have enough turtles if you make them start in the right place, and you need to make sure you can get back round to recharge your pow glove afterwards, because you'll need it, you'll use all your pows getting the turtles to go the right way, and you'll need to be a barrier yourself too.

Hint...
You only need one boomer across the water.

I'm still no tile further with your reply.
I came with a new approach on blowing up the kegs.
But I can't recharge!
I don't know how the turtles have to walk to get me to the bridge

I'll do you a screen shot of the turtles tomorrow, but for now here's a hint or two.

Urghle. I can see where the turtles are meant to go, and can get them going over the right way, but not down at the right point. Aaaargh! And now it's going to have to wait until after work tomorrow .... Gah! :x

Stand where shown. When all turtles have gone across, stand on button to raise bridges for last two turtles and back down to position to direct them. You'll have to do this twice.

first picture: you stand on wrong spot when door is open, cos then turtles go another way and it's wrong or you walked to island
better stand at the right side of the barrel you're now facing

but still something is wrong in second picture
cos turtles don't go over the button
they return from island to mainland
think you need that cross on the multi-keg on another keg on that island

Where I'm standing in the first picture has nothing to do with blowing up the barrels, it's just where I was when I took the screenshot. It's the third picture where I was showing you where to stand. But you got there in the end. :wink:

I used a completely different method, didn't have to recharge my POW's, just took a friend to help me direct the turtles

Oh, popo, thank you! I was so close, just didn't get the barrels by the turtle enclosure quite right! :D

98 stars and counting ... unfortunately it's now back to the Lost Ice Fortress for me. :(

Salin,
from the coins, I used 3 brrs for getting back on boomer-land (diagonal)
then there are 2 spots where you can brr only 1 piece and go diagonal to go across
So when you need 2 tiles to get back, it will be those 2
When the turtles are in the right position, you open the door and are back at the start so you need recharging. After recharge you only need to go back to the bridges. So 2 tiles to get back
And 1 brr just before th pow gloves!
I think that's your answer!

I'm a little confused. My boomer has to blow up the barrel in front of him, while I go off to collect coins and brr. The yellow gates go up when you step on the yellow buttons, so he can't follow me. I know how to get back, but what I'm confused about, is if he blows that one barrel, how to blow barrels near orange pow?

One boomer blows up the first barrel, then take another boomer through and have him wait for you by the water. When you've brr'd across you take him down to blow the first barrels up. The last 4 you can have wait by the door until you get round.

Ah, I see you're trying to use that boomer to blow up the first barrel. He has another job to do first. You will need all the boomers so think how useful that one can be. :wink:

Um, the part I underlined ... no. :lol:

After the turtles were in place, you only need one boomer to help you get the gems. In the end, of the 7 boomers I had, only 4 of them lost their cool. The other three were cool as cucumbers and stayed lit the whole time.

Silly popo, trying to make it so hard! :lol: :lol:

This is driving me crazy!
If I get a second boomer across the ice and up into the turtle area, I can use it to block the turtles as they come out so that I can get into the right place on the island to send them down.

Only problem is I can't get back to the POW because I haven't got enough Brrs.

If I don't get the boomer across I wouldn't need to get back to the POW, but I can't control the turtles as they come out and on the island.

What am I missing? Or is it that I just 'aint fast enough?

OMG Popo, the boomers, the turtles... I got through this level, but I was making it so difficult.
With a few less Pows, and without blowing up any on the island with the blue button, you can, with the help of one Brr (I never thought that tricky Brr placement was intentional), use all those turtles to form the bridge back to the mainland. With the remaining Pows, I unfroze as many boomers as I could (oh how could I have missed that simple solution?!), and used them to blow up the barrels.

One of my original ideas was to do use your method to be able to recharge my Pow, but with that extra Brr needed, that become impossible.

you don't need POW to unfreeze boomers. One of them is not frozen, and can be used to unfreeze them all.
