Can You Make Adventures For The WA Early Build?

Post by jdl » Mon Oct 19, 2009 12:53 am

I was wondering if it was possible to make (un-winnable of course) adventures for the WA Early Build.

If you could, it would seem that you would have to keep overriding the files in the adventures folder to play it since there is no select screen. I'd just like more info on this.

Thanks,

jdl

Of course it's possible, but MS won't give us any programs to do it, obviously  so unless someone tries to make a program that can do it, it's probably not worth it. That alpha isn't exactly very interesting to play.

I'm not sure if this'll help much or not, but it's interesting to note that .WOP structures are virtually the same between the WA beta and the final version.

Compare this by opening up one of the beta levels in a HEX Editor and scroll down until you reach objects. Compare it to a .WOP file in a HEX Editor, they're very similar.

BIG News!

Thanks to talking with Mqdar on Skype, I found out that there are some hidden features in the WA Beta!

These 3 hidden features are not pressed with the Number Pad.
Press 1 to activate Move Power.
Press 2 to activate Ice Power.
Press 3 to activate FIRE POWER! The fire power does absolutely nothing, unfortunately... And strangely, it uses the Pop yellow magic glove!

These 3 hidden features are like using Alt X in Return To Wonderland. Use the number pad with these. (Note: No Alt X are needed to make this work!)
Pressing 7 moves the camera up.
Pressing 1 Moves the camera down.
Pressing 5 resets the camera to normal position.

Press S to save your game.
Press L to load your game you last saved.

Have fun,

jdl

Turn on the console command by pressing enter.

Open, Close and Toggle command are the same, but you need to do command 8,1,0,0,0 to activate the dialogue.
and the duck went moo

Beep bloop

Figured out how to change the starting position. The master.dat file has the X/Y positioning in it (in HEX) but nothing else.

Starting on water deletes the player model right away.

Oh yeah, for that matter, I'm insane enough to try putting a map from WA in here

D-P

Mkay, as I expected, a .wlv file from the editor crashes the beta.

On the bright side, I managed to do this in the beta in the exact same way one would in an Editor file.
