The BIT.TRIP Series
BIT.TRIP is a series of 6 games, all of them based on retro gaming consoles, such as the Atari. The star is CommanderVideo, which you can see in my avatar, and in the game you go through all of his experiences in life. All of these games have AWESOME music, which is affected based on how good you are doing at the level. The 6 games are:
BEAT: This one is based on Pong, but one side is removed and you control the remaining side's paddle. You must deflect all the beats (those are what would be the ball in Pong).
CORE: This one is kind of complicated to explain. There's a link to the BIT.TRIP webpage below, so you can see for yourself.
VOID: This one is very fun. You control a black ball with which you must move to collect the blach beats and avoid the white ones. You grow as you collect more beats, and you use the A button to release them and return to normal sizre.
RUNNER: This one is my favorite. Here you finally get to control CommanderVideo as he runs through the Moon, the MechaMines, and The Big City. It is a platformer in which you must jump, slide, and kick your way through obstacles.
FATE: This one is a on-rails shooter in which you control CommanderVideo in his quest to defeat the Mingrawn Timbletot.
FLUX: The last of the series. It takes the gameplay from BEAT and adds new beat types and awesome music. Accompany CommanderVideo as he returns..... home.

Both RUNNER and BEAT are available on Steam, too. I have to warn you though, if you play these games, you must be able to withstand TONS OF RAGE. These games are very challenging (sometimes too much) and if you aren't patient enough you might end up throwing your Wii Remote at your TV.
I only have BEAT, CORE, and RUNNER, but just a few weeks ago, BIT.TRIP COMPLETE was released for Wii, which contains all 6 games and additional challenges and content. BIT.TRIP SAGA for 3DS was also released.
So go and take a look, and see if you like them! I'm completely hooked, and I'm going to buy COMPLETE soon. I'm stuck in BEAT's third level, Growth, though. I'M RAGING SO MUCH BUT IT'S TOO FUN!

Um...the first one. *hit by beat*
Also Catharis [FLUX] has possibly one of the best themes EVER. Any remix of RUNNER is awesome.
Did you know that the music in FATE is dubstep? One of my least favorite genres.

I love the music from FATE. I had never actually heard dubstep, but from what I can see, it's probably an awesome music genre. I actually downloaded the music from EVERY SINGLE LEVEL that BIT.TRIP has. It's just too awesome.
Catharsis is AWESOME, but, every time I hear it it makes me sad, because SUPER SPOILER ALERT:

I am home.........waiting for dinner. *kicked by CommanderVideo*
Also, is someone willing to explain the white, round, 'ethereal' CommanderVideo?
Also, WANT:

In FATE, CommanderVideo seems to dance in the aura in giga mode.Wikipedia on Dubstep wrote: Its overall sound has been described as "tightly coiled productions with overwhelming bass lines and reverberant drum patterns, clipped samples, and occasional vocals".

It seems to be really popular.TheThaumaturge wrote:I had never actually heard dubstep, but from what I can see, it's probably an awesome music genre.
If you're a fan of Nintendo's Legend of Zelda, and you like dubstep music, click here.
BIT.TRIP is an interesting game. I only have the free demo version of BEAT, and it is HARD. You need quite a bit of practice to clear a level by yourself, since it's still tricky with a second player. But two-player mode is confusing at times, since your paddles can cross through each other and it is a little hard to distinguish between the two.

Especially from 4:03. In this song I feel relaxed, happy, and sad at the same time.

[rage]MMRRRRRRRRREEEEEYYYYEEEHHHH!!!![/rage]TheThaumaturge wrote:Woohoo, just got .COMPLETE! Now I'm going to get going with all of the games, I may be away from the computer for awhile.
I have ideas on control schemes for the games to be ported to PC.
BEAT: Already ported.
CORE: Arrow keys to aim, space bar to shoot.
VOID: Arrow keys to move, space bar to discharge.
RUNNER: Already ported.
FATE: Arrows to move along the Line, mouse to aim, left mouse button to shoot.
FLUX: Same as BEAT controls.
