So ~xpr'd~ and I just went on the server and spent some two hours building this "temple" of sorts.
It's in the style of a constructed culture that I'm creating, part of a constructed world I've been working on for the past six years or so. The front entrance has a sign in their language (a constructed one) and the back entrance has a small garden.

If you'd like to visit, it's located in the freebuild at (156, 70, 412). Once you get close enough you can't miss it.

Strained to Perfection

Post by Jutomi » Mon Dec 15, 2014 12:32 am

Wow! That looks very nice, Blast!

I just wanted to say that on this server that I've been going on for three years...
well, if you remember how heated things got this summer,
this server makes me feel well over twice as strained. :P
Often.

This doesn't have to do with your server, Qloof,
but it is minecraft involved. :|

I got raided five times today, in addition to having several members lose objects,
have to reinvite a mod whom broke 6 laws, reinvite a member whom broke 4
and had an emotional breakdown irl, got in the middle of a backstabbing web of 10 people online,
had grief councelling, fixed our home, met up with an oversized home,
had a member lose half of his castle due to a member's being sad at some random guy,
and I now owe everyone a total of 3,175,000 ingame dollars.

That was just today. :P

Warzone of Cry

Post by Jutomi » Mon Dec 15, 2014 6:38 pm

I don't want to say it aloud,
and I don't want to PM you without your confirmation
that you'd be able to handle this server
of death, despair, drama, danger, destruction, and deceit.

A lot of D's, that might be why they changed from WZM to WZD. :P

Also, I'd enjoy joining, but I've been so tied up with this server
that I've not even had much of a chance to create/play anything in Wonderland,
let alone anything else. :(

Double Post for Peace

Post by Jutomi » Wed Dec 17, 2014 7:28 pm

Gracious news!
I hope I'm using that word correctly...

but digressing, I finally resolved the issue at hand. ;)

I found quite high confirmity that the guy I owned most money to
not only didn't legitimately own that stuff,
but apparently stole it from the other person I "owed" lots of money to.

So, now, we're almost even;
and I finally kicked the one use after all the grief he put me through. :P
Er - both grief blockwise and grief emotionally.

Bumping this back up. There's been a lot of server downtime, due to me being lazy about starting it up again after restarting my computer, but anyways.

Is anyone still interested in this? If so, I can try updating to 1.8 to see how things cope.

Responsability

Post by Jutomi » Thu Feb 12, 2015 10:33 pm

I would be,
but I don't think I really would be able to do much. :(

In minecraft, all of my time's spent running Diplomatic. :P

So, sorry for the inattendencies,
but that is, indeed, my case.

I am interested. As some of you may or may not know I have recently started a project to recreate the Wonderland map in Minecraft. It's almost done now, and when it's complete I would like to have it uploaded to the server as a playable map for everyone. Would that be possible?

The map has land forms, biomes, roads and pyramids constructed according to the WSW map. However it has no houses at all, no Creepy Keep, and no Cloud City. So there's always something to be done in the map. Build Qookie's cottage, or all of Wondertown, or even make this wish come true.

DP. Since no one is replying I'll post some screenshots of the idea in action.

Forever Forest is full of pine trees and inhabited by wildlife of all sorts. It looks significantly denser from above than from the inside.
The more barren Wasteland has just the blazing sun and the Pyramid.
The even less interesting Creepy Keep is, unfortunately, just a flat plane. I'm leaving the building task for when the map is actually up and playable.
Fire Island is a desert on the outside, and a very dense jungle on the inside. So dense, in fact, that there are above-ground areas that look like this in full daylight. The jungle towers quite a distance above the sea (don't click this one if you're afraid of heights).
Of course, how can Fire Island be Fire Island without the legendary Volcano?
The Foggy Mountains have both gentle slopes and monstrously steep ones. Crystal Lake and The Caves are also featured, but no screenshot. Foggy Peak is the highest point in the map – so high that when night falls over the Mountains you can climb up the Peak and see the sun before it rises. :)
So... opinions, comments, criticism? Yay? Nay?

Forever Forest: Kinda similar to the stock Minecraft terrain. I think it would look great if it was more dense, to a point there is almost no light coming from the top: kinda like a real forest.
Pyramid: Perfect. :)
Creepy Keep: Interested in seeing what it will look like. 8)
Jungle: Not bad, pretty dense, although I feel that it's a little less "jungle" and more "regular" as I like to call it. By jungle, I mean kinda with vines, palm trees, etc. Not sure if it's possible in Minecraft. Although the jungle-beach connection looks awesome.
Volcano: Perfect. :)
Foggy Mountains: No criticism here, but it seems kinda a little bit too stock Minecraft. Maybe making a path would look better.

Not a Minecraft player, but I think you have done an excellent job! :D

What can I say except "This looks amazing"? :o

I'm not entirely sure...

though, I admit that the Creepy Keep has even seen some better days
than where it is now.

Thanks for sharing your Wondercraft screenshots, Blast! :D

Thanks for the reviews!

@garirry:
I'm not sure how dense the forest can be, but I'll try to mess with the settings a bit and see what I can do.
The jungle has vines, but they're a little hard to spot in the screenshot. Palm trees cannot be generated, but maybe we can try to build them on the server.
re: Foggy Mountains, I think the main problem here is that they look a little too smooth. But yeah, a path is a good idea – I'll add that.
