Ported Hub: The Dark Cave

Phew, this is finally done! :D

It took a lot of work to get this one ported, but it turned out well in the end.
This is The Dark Cave by ab-47. You can find the original thread here.

-IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT THIS HUB-
1. Coins are mandatory in order to progress in the Hub. You will eventually get stuck if you do not have enough to buy a larger inventory, lamp, etc. Remember, there's a Stinker that opens the floing menu for you. There are also sometimes coins in the hub area itself, so be sure to check everywhere because you're going to need all the coins you can get!
2. I'm 99% sure that all the adventures in this hub are completable.
3. The glowgem you find while talking to a merchant is free. Also, recharging your lamp is free.
4. There is a total of 100 stars in the game.
5. There are 15 Tokens for the arcade machines. Like coins, some are hidden in very sneaky spots so be sure to check every hub level you meet.

7. At the end of the Hub, you get a message written on a sign about three challenges. I've contacted ab-47 about this, and he doesn't remember what it was about or related to, so just ignore it. :)

-DOWNLOAD & INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS-
Due to the size limits of this forum, this Hub had to be uploaded off-site.
To Patrick: if there is a problem with this, please PM me about it and I will remove the upload ASAP.

-DOWNLOAD-
You can download this hub by clicking here.

-INSTALLATION-
1. Place the "icons darkcave.bmp" file into UserData\Custom\Icons\.
2. Place the files inside the "Custom" folder in the zip into a folder called "Custom" in the Editor's root directory.
3. Place the files inside the "Leveltextures" folder in the zip into UserData\Custom\Leveltextures\.
4. Place the files inside the "Models" folder inside the zip into UserData\Custom\Models\.
5. Finally, place the "WA Dark Cave" folder into UserData\Custom\Hubs\.

Is it even possible to kill the Fireflowers here? It's the level objective and there doesn't seem to be enough Pow to do it. The adventure is called "blue flower garden." and it's located in Creatures Forest.

EDIT: Nevermind, I got it.

EDIT2: Okay, what? How is "the haunted forest" physically possible? I mean, really. Unless it's possible to open all of the gates, which doesn't seem to be the case.

This was one of the adventures I didn't test because it was completed on the stream. If I remember correctly, there was a way to get all the gates down, but I don't remember the solution at all.

If no one is able to pass this one, then I'll see about uploading a fixed version. :)

I actually took the time to write a program specifically for solving diamond button puzzles and not a single solution exists for lowering all of the gates. Thus, CMD 2 must have been used in the stream's playthrough of this level (CMD 2 was used a lot in the stream anyway). Cool. I'm now several hours closer to dying of old age with nothing to show for it. Ctrl+F12 awayyyyyyyyyyy!

Really though, if you're going to port an entire hub, you could at least test all the adventures yourself rather than rely on a stream that abused the vault. Pardon me if I'm coming off as rude, but I'm super salty right now knowing that I might end up wasting time on an unsolvable puzzle in this hub once again. :? :(

UPDATE
I have reuploaded this hub with an update to an adventure called "the haunted forest" because it was actually impossible. Please redownload the hub and replace Adventure65, and if you had to ctrl-f12 this adventure, you can replay the updated version in the floing menu. If you haven't gotten to this adventure yet, you should have the updated version when you get to it if you redownload and replace Adventure65 with the one in the zip.

WHOOPS I FIXED A BUG WITH THE BUTTON PUZZLE SOLVER AND IT TURNS OUT THE ORIGINAL VERSION ACTUALLY WAS SOLVABLE

THE ORIGINAL VERSION WAS STILL DUMB THOUGH LET'S BE HONEST THERE'S NO WAY A HUMAN COULD SOLVE THAT WITHOUT LUCK CONSIDERING THE DARKNESS AND WEE STINKERS FALLING ASLEEP EVERY TWO SECONDS (WHY DID MS THINK THAT WAS A GOOD IDEA)

OH NO! I'M MISSING 6 TOKENS AND I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE THEY ARE! How about a list of token locations for wimps like me? :twisted:

EDIT: OKAY MISSING 3 TOKENS NOW

EDIT2: 2 TOKENS TO GO

EDIT3: One token left and I have no idea where it is!

Finally, I've completed this hub with all 100 stars! Thank you very much jdl for taking the time to port this, and of course, thank you ab-47 for making it.

There were some annoying parts, but overall I'd say it was a nice experience. Once again, thanks! :D

EDIT: Oh, and you can obtain a spare stone key from the "poisoned!" level (at the end of Inferno Acids). :twisted:

I think there is a glitch in my game. I can't access the beautiful garden, there is no dialog, and the merchant wont refill my lamp. I have restarted 2x and still have the same problem.

I don't know why but my computer wouldn't do a print screen (got a black page) anyway, used my phone, so hope this works.
I don't remember how to insert images either, so i did them as attachments.

Okay, I just got the chance to get on my PC and figure out why this happened, it looks like the latest version of the modded player doesn't allow CMD 22 to activate unless you speak to the stinker first. I also don't know where else this has been used (but I can guarantee there are instances where I had CMD 22 at a start of a wlv) but here's two solutions for this:

1- Roll back to a previous version of the editor or the base version before modding: This is ultimately a long term fix, WA Dark Cave has been created back with the very first editor and was being implemented to the MOFI experimental player to and fro, so unless the WA+ development team fixes this on the next update it would be preferable to downgrade your game back to the vanilla edition.

2- Download the fixed dialog for this stinker: So here's the catch: If you download this, it'll be only a quick fix. it's a very old hub that I released back in summer 2011 (wow, 10 years ago) and I haven't done any follow-up even after the porting. To replace this, make sure you have a savefile back before you enter the town (I think it also works even if you are in-town?), go to waeeditor\UserData\Player Profiles\YOURPROFILENAME\SaveFiles and select the save number, replace the dialog linked below with the existing one, and load again.

Thanks for pointing out the bug, I have found the cause and hope that it will be fixed in our next 10.3.2 release.

I don't have an earlier version before town, since i continued to play, but thats ok, kinda fun, so may start again. Thanks!

Edit: Actually, I was already in town, so I replaced like you said. It worked, and I didn't lose any of my progress. AWESOME :stinkycool: THANK YOU!
