Yoctostinky - Demo 1 Available
In addition to Pixelpart, today I started working on another project. It's an extremely minimalistic, 2-dimensional, black and white Wonderland fangame made entirely in Game Maker 7 Pro.
Currently, Stinky has something like this 12x12 sprite:
The game will most likely have levels extremely similar to the levels in TOW and RTWC, and possibly some 100% original levels as well. The level selection screen will probably be like in TOW and RTWC/RTWD. As for the scrolling vs. screens decision, I think I'll decide according to your opinions.
As soon as I get home, I'll start giving the project some shape (I have only made 3 sprites so far), and then post screenshots.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask here.

Close, but not exactly. This game is monochrome - only 2 colors - while the Game Boy had much more than that.dlcs18 wrote:So... this would be kinda like what Wonderland would be like on a Game Boy? Cool!
I don't think so, but the field of view is bigger than the one in the official Wonderland games.jdl wrote:I guess their won't be any Alt-X, will there?
SLOW DOWN - SCREENSHOT AHEAD

This is a nice remake! I found 2 glitches though:
1. You can get yourself stuck in a box.
2. You can unlock the gates without collecting all the coins if you collect all of them except the middle one in the bottom section. Look at the screenshot below.

1. Because something is still wrong with my engine.
2. Because all coins in the bottom section are BONUS coins. >_>

Which Gameboy are we talking about? This one?:Blast!10 wrote:Close, but not exactly. This game is monochrome - only 2 colors - while the Game Boy had much more than that.dlcs18 wrote:So... this would be kinda like what Wonderland would be like on a Game Boy? Cool!
Cuz that one is pale-green-yellow-ish and black.
Game itself is AWESOME. JUST AWESOME.
*double post, but no one will notice this otherwise*
I now have a PLAYABLE DEMO containing three levels. All levels require a password to get to except for level 1. The password for the protected levels can be seen when you reach the level.
Clicky
EDIT: I forgot to mention that in Demo 2 and up you can also resize the window

Triple post... >_<
PLAY IT HERE
It's only 5 levels, but who said fangames had to be long?
As in Demo 2, you can resize the window.

*SUPER OMEGA GIANT PEANUT BUTTER... BUMP*
Ok, well Blasty has given me the GMK file and I've decided to continue making this for whatever reason. (I just want to have something to do in my time besides playing Counter-Strike: Source... )
Updates:
I've added a little "intro" of my own.
Added title screen.
Revised the "level select screen". This is no longer a level select screen, though.
Added a saving feature.
To Come:
An instructions screen.*
Music.
More levels.
*this is a possibility, as the signs in the game kinda explain what to do, so this is a maybe.
DEMOS:
There will be a demo ready tomorrow, or today. It just depends on if A) I get enough work done on it. or B) If my internet will be able to upload it (see below).
My internet has been acting very weird with uploading things lately. Every time I try to upload something, 19MB for example, my router gives out when it's almost done uploading and it doesn't get uploaded, and I have to unplug and plug back in my router.
(P.S. - I have Game Maker 7 Pro now! )
I am looking forward to your comments,
jdl
