And it should.
It's not because FPS's sell better than Puzzle games, regardless of which plays better.

And if it was an accident then you can easily ignore it.

I don't understand. I rather it wasn't flooding, but because it is the best game ever it should. What does FPS stand for other than frames per second (unless it does stand for frames per second)?

Oh yes, I remember now:
Message from over two years ago wrote:FPS stands for two things.

Number 1, used by almost all games: Frames Per Second. Essentially how fast the game goes, e.g. 20 frames per second, etc.

Number 2, used by shooting games: First Person Shooter. An example is Battlefield 2, you wiev from the eyes of your character.

I still don't understand the sentence "It's not because FPS's sell better than Puzzle games, regardless of which plays better.".

Yes, that's the point that Qloof is making. You can just ignore it instead of telling them that it's actually this or that.

No, I meant "If the mistake was an accident then the person that made the accident can just ignore me telling them that they made a mistake. But if it was them getting it wrong, they would now know better.".

All mistakes are accidents. And no one cares about spelling errors because they're very minor. As long as the sentence is still understandable, then there's no point in saying "OMG SPELLING ERROR11!!!!!11!!11!!!!1!!"

Accidents are without an apparent cause when mistakes are with an apparent cause.

Accident and Mistake mean the same thing. If something happened by mistake, it wasn't intentional. If something happened by accident, it wasn't intentional.

As for the game thing: First Person Shooter games sell much better than puzzle games - not because of quality, but because of popularity. How is that sentence hard to understand?

I hate to break it to you, but there's no such thing as the best game ever. It's subjective based on what that person likes to see in video games. There is no such thing as a game that caters to everyone.

True. What I meant was the best game to me. And the second best game to me is nowhere near as fun as Wonderland.

OK, maybe I just said something wrong then (the M in mistake should have not been a capital).

Why are First Person Shooter games more popular?

What does the FPS genre in particular have to do with this? :?

There are a lot of mature gamers out there, and they usually prefer violence. Shooter games are what they usually choose for that. First person adds an angle of both a different feel as well as surprise - you can't see what's coming up from behind you unlike in third person games.

If violence is immature, then the world is immature. Think of all that war.

Some people play FPS's for the violence - some people play it for a horror aspect. I know I'm on the latter side, FPS games have a much better chance of scaring people, which is why I play them (lolHalfLife)

Still, why are they more popular? Is horror aspect better than puzzle solving (it's not by millions for me)?

In the modern market, yes. FPS games are mass produced because they sell well, regardless of actual quality.

... People have their own opinions on what makes a good game. It might seem weird to you, but your preferences will seem weird to other people as well.
