You mean the original music files from Wonderland? In the WA trilogy, you can just go to Data/Music and get all the files, while in the Classic trilogy, you don't actually get the music files themselves from the game. You can get them only through the MSCD, but I can post it here if that's what you meant.

Yes, some of the res.dat files are the music. I know that res1 and res2 aren't one of them, though. If I remember correctly, the format that they're in are Impulse Tracker (.it) files. I think if you just rename them to have a .it extension that they should be able to play in media players that support that format.
The res3 to resX files (I don't remember) are also MIDI files; you can actually get the notes for the song and remix them, which is what I'm actually trying to do.jdl wrote:Yes, some of the res.dat files are the music. What's VLC? Is it okay if I use Audacity?samuelthx wrote:Open them in VLC and you will be able to hear the music.
Postscript: wow, never before have I gotten so many comments/replies in such little time. Thanks, all of you!

I decided to upload them here (on Google Drive because too big for the forum) to eliminate the hassle. It's also the same one I posted in the Classic Trilogy soundtrack topic.

Garirry, I suggest you delete the music files you've uploaded unless you have permission from Patrick to upload it. I can tell that they're from the MS Collection CD, and the readme on the CD says:
Readme wrote:Please note that, as with all other material
on this CD, these music tracks are FOR
PERSONAL USE ONLY!
They cannot be further distributed in any
way, shape, or form.

Wonderlful Wonderland
Sometimes "Wonderland" is referred to as "TOW", for "The original Wonderland".
Plus then you've got WA, WA2/WA:MOFI/MOFI, and WA3/WA:POTZ/POTZ.
Er - not sure why the proclaimation of such was to be pronounced,
but there it is.

But when I PM'd MS asking him if he allowed me to share the CD soundtrack, he refused, so I deleted it. It is still on my Google Drive if someone wants to guess the link.OondiLalaLoopy wrote:You shouldn't delete the music files!
I REMEMBER I ASKED MS AND HE SAID THAT CAN BE USED JUST IN THE EDITOR...NOWHERE ELSE!!!!
So we can use them in the editor.

Yeah, sure. If you're using them in WAE, it's fine. MS allowed that.OondiLalaLoopy wrote:But I can still use my classic soundtracks pack in my adventures?garirry wrote:But when I PM'd MS asking him if he allowed me to share the CD soundtrack, he refused, so I deleted it. I'm assuming that the rule here is that "you can use the tracks in your levels, but you can't distribute them with your levels". Being able to distribute would make the readme pointless, right? Anyone could go download adventures/hubs and get all the tracks. I'm not too good with legal stuff so please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Jdl said that you can use the soundtrack with your levels, but you can't publish them on the forum. I don't think this applies for the soundtrack directly contained in the RTW folder.OondiLalaLoopy wrote:Now I'm dizzy!jdl wrote:I'm assuming that the rule here is that "you can use the tracks in your levels, but you can't distribute them with your levels". What sens it has if I can't publish my levels with the soundtracks?garirry wrote:Jdl said that you can use the soundtrack with your levels, but you can't publish them on the forum. You can publish your level, but you technically cannot publish the soundtrack itself IF it comes from the CD, except if you only publish it to people who own the CD. However, the soundtrack is also available to all owners of any Wonderland Trilogy games, so if you publish those to all owners of RTW/WSW/TOW, then it would be fine.
Yes, I know that legalese is a very bizzare language, so here's what I'd suggest: It's okay if you publish the soundtrack as files designed to work with WAE (standard OGGs named after numbers), but I still deleted the ones that are on my Google Drive.

Here's a suggestion:
Download someone's level that requires the custom music. If you don't own the full version of WSW, you can download and install the demo version. I'm not sure if all of the music files come with the demo, but I assume they do. You can take res3-8.dat and rename them to .it files. From there you can probably find a piece of software online to convert them to .ogg files.
