Wonderland Fangames?
Wonderland Fangames?
Is is okay to make a wonderland fangame only accessable to registered users of this forum? I woulden't need any graphics... I only make 2D games and I will just need to modify: to make all of the characters and well... ummm... yeh... I of course need permission but it would still be cool.

If i can I would like the complete set, but that is no what I was origially doing. I think I need permission to make a fangame but I am not sure... Well, better safe than sorry.

I have no problem with you making a Wonderland fangame, as long as a few rules are followed:
a) no 'official' (and hence copyrighted) material is used (official graphics, sound fx, music, copies of gameplay mechanics)
b) the game is not distributed other than on this forum or on a wonderland fan site (e.g. mette's site)
c) the title screen includes the remark that the game is not "official" and hence Midnight Syngery has no responsibility for its content.
d) the spirit of the game doesn't deviate too far from the official Wonderland games (e.g. a violent shoot-em-up where Stinky and Loof battle hordes of Zombies would not be ok)
Hopefully you'll find that these are reasonable (and not too restrictive) requests.
Cheers,
Patrick

Okay! The graphics are going to be the smiles. Well, it's not going to be a violent game it is going to be a tile-baised puzzle game but I am wondering if it's okay if it's a side-veiw. Like a tile based platformer but instead of wasting time jumping on little zombies it would be a box-pushing puzzle game using trampolines, boxes and water. I am wondering if that is "too far" but if it is I can make it a top-down puzzle game or isometric (hardest).

It looks great!
Just a comment: While the rainbow background looks cool, it is a bit distracting

Going great so far!
In case you don't know, a game usually goes through three versions. The Alpha version is a rough design, and is just to get the basic engine going. The Beta version is much better, but still lacks major elements, and the Delta version (I don't know why there isn't a Gamma version) is the finished game, just needs to be combed through for spelling and grammar errors, graphical errors, bugs and glitches, etc.

I have finished the first level! The engine is almost done so anyone interestd in making "official" (there will be an editor) levels can pm me with a exel document following the little requirements (oh, yes, if you get yer level into za game you will be in thar credits):John925 wrote:Only if you have MMF2 and can understand the game engine.slimm tom wrote:That's a VERY good idea! - It is 10*10
- It uses recognizable terms for parts (box not B because of blank)
- The exit is in there (sorry it didn't make it into the screenie)
- If levels are not accepted I will pm you to tell you why so you can submit a redegsign.
