JA: Home of the Sign People V. Gamma 1.2

Post by Jutomi » Sun Jun 21, 2015 4:33 am

Yes, version Gamma of JA:HOTSP has finally been released!

However, there are a few things to note, before you get into anything.

What's been added since Version Beta?

This is one of the larger things to note, given that the changelog's pretty large and, in fact,
will probably be changing even moreso as testers bring me feedback info. :)
View the bottom for changes in future Gamma updates.

The resulting changes to Gamma 1.0 include:
+ Over 42 new adventures
--Some of the old ones have been redone, like "Dragon Nest".
+ 2 new biomes have been added!
--One is the polar biome, The Desolates(world 6)
--One is the Bubble Forest(world 5, and my personal favorite.)
+ Numerous hub problems have been fixed, such as a potential blue key and the ice cube not being 100% winnable.
+ The name updated.
+ The Warp Gate has been rennovated!
-- So has the End Room
+ Probably over 42 dialogues have been added. :?
+ A new town has been added, called "Kallastaden".
+ Made difficulty for the two new biomes hopefully less difficult than world 4.
+ Made more references and hub-puzzles which don't kill you.
+ Added a government called "Bubblearchy"
+ Introduced rainbow bubbles, flo bubbles, rainbow floats, bubble wands, shootbots, suction tubes, and link tiles to World 5.
+ Introduced Pr. Transports, Flash magic, the Cold Limit(Thanks, Garirry, for letting me use this), ghosts, wraiths, and ice blasters to World 6.
+ Made most of the newer levels shorter(albeit some are still long.)
+ Made a new thread on the Wonderland forums for this stuff.
+ Made hub more traversable for testers than before, via the renovated warp gate.
+ Made the indigo thwart like to make mysterious pasta.
+ Made a game show.
+ Made the world at least 15% more hygienic.
+ Added some fake water to the hub - not much.
+ Added a peak at another biome...
+ Added hints for a couple of adventures.
+ Made the changelog list way more detailed and longer.

Now, the second thing:

Where's my download button?!?

I discussed this with the wonderland users on episkype
(yes, some of them still Wonderland, silly.),
and thus I've decided to use dropbox.

I thank them dearly, very much for helping me figure out just
what the core I'm supposed to do.

Minimus said something about needing to zip it up...
I don't know how it looks like, so if you'll need me to fix this link up,
please send me this as a feedback. :P

Now, I won't be linking the hub here.
Instead, I want users to reply to me, either PM or, preferably, in this section,
as to whether or not they want to be a tester.
Note, it's hard, and albeit I'd love your testing help,
please, do not sign up unless you sincerely want to dedicate your time
to testing this hub through and through
- or at least in worlds 5 and 6.

In turn I'll be sending each individual a PM.
That way members don't download it without my knowledge,
and leave me hanging with no feedback. :P

However, anyone may, indeed, if they're up for it,
and able to do it, sign up to test this. :)
And, if you've signed up to test it, but found out you can't do it,
that's fine too. :o

Oh, also...

Another note: Please, do NOT test world 4 unless you want a challenge.

World 4...

I plan on redoing most of this(not the hub, the adventures).

World 4 is, albeit interesting, and really neat...
and difficult, definitely...
it's too difficult.

Like, it's harder than I'd like World 8 to be.

It's also on account of this that I have two extra adventures in my miscellaneous outbox. :P

What if it's too hard? Or too easy?

Well, if it's too easy, then either you're a pro or I actually suck.
Or both. Either way, you'd then have no problem testing it.

If it's too hard, then feel free to ask me for help. :)

If it's still too hard, I can give you a solution to certain adventures,
or, if you really don't feel up to it, may leave, as you please. :)

But please let me know if you're leaving; I don't want to be left hanging. :?

How does one give you feedback?

Simple! Simply through a PM. :)
If you get banned from the WA forums for mysterious reasons or hacks,
I've also got steam and skype, and even epigam. :P

At first, I was thinking about letting one post-reply here,
but alas, PM's are cleaner, more private,
and changelogs would alert other testers(if any were to come)
about changes and things other testers have found wrong with the hub. :|

So yeah... I'm doing it the PM way this time.

Are you done yet?

Yes, except, underneath that break I'd like to add a changelog history.

I hope you enjoy; and please, send me feedback.

Changelog:

V1.1: (Presuming things went to plan) Swampy Update I
+ Hopefully fixed exits for the swamp adventures, albeit I plan on changing them around in Delta again anyways.
+ Fixed water in the Swamp/Friendlyside border and Let It Pop Over(Both in credit to SS01, thank you!)
+ Made "Let it Pop Over" and "Quest of Magic" a bit easier.
+ Planted some spikeweed, cherry trees, and red blossoms(6 plants total) to the Lava Triangle(inaccessible) / Ring of Fire border.
+ Made the hub(not the adventures though) of the Ring of Fire's atmosphere slightly more orange.

V1.2: Accidentally Small Update I
+ Changed exit destination for the Ring of Fire's WR warp.
+ Slightly modified text in the Warp Realm.
+ Remembered "Warp Gate" is actually the "Warp Realm".
+ Made Hide and Seek have 1 extra wall. Not much more I can do about that adventure. ;)

I won't be able to test as life is pretty busy right now, but I thought I'd drop by and say good job so far! From what little I've played in Beta, I can see you've really put in hard work into this project of yours.

Also, just out of curiosity, how many versions are you planning to have till final release (Delta, Epsilon, Zeta, Eta, Theta...)?

Zeta Tracks

Post by Jutomi » Sun Jun 21, 2015 2:57 pm

I was thinking about only releasing up to Zeta,
however I'm thinking that I'll either merge World 4's remake with Delta,
or I'll make that something else entirely. :P

I don't want it to be too hard, you know?

Similarly, I plan on redoing a few of the Ring of Fire's adventures...
not a lot, just a few.
Er - Colour Blind and the Hyper Scritters adventure, I'd like easier...
Short-Ranged Alternation, maybe just a bit easier and/or shorter...
Ready to Burst and Ready for Battle, just to look less like spam...

Maybe make Hyperventilation 1% less frightening.

Oh, also, incredibly shortly after this post, I plan on adding feedback information. :)
Like, info on how to bring me feedback.

Edit: All done!

And, I understand how busy you are, Samuelthx;
I greatly appreciate your words, though. :)
Again, you and yarjor have sincerely been the best testers I've ever had. ;)

Gamma Rays

I've updated the hub slightly;

Not a dramatic change, as seen in Changelog 1.1,
so there's no need to download it unless you really want to make sure everything's hooked up properly. :)

That's all.

Wow... this looks fantastic!

I'm afraid I can't access the WA editor/player for a few days, as I'm currently changing computers. However, I'd love to test this when I have the chance!

Test of Download

Post by Jutomi » Thu Jul 02, 2015 2:57 pm

Yeah, sure, Yzfm!

I could use your help anyways making sure that link I gave loofisawesome works correctly.

I have to say, I thought for sure that I redid Dragon Watch,
but I can't even find it in my update notes, let alone my hub.

I know I did create it though,
so this next update will be a...
well, pretty size-able one to say the least. :|
