Can anyone post a walkthrough for the barrels in the red/light blue gate area? I can't work out which barrels to fire at to make a path to get at the fire flowers on either side AND be able to blink back to the ice/turtle area. The way I went meant I couldn't reach the little island inbetween ...

You haven't missed anything. When you got the star key, the directions there were: "Now just grab the star key and head back to the surface." The surface = outside.

Have you tried that? Doing that will eventually lead you to that room again.

I went inside the temple & down the ladder & completed all the levels down there, eventually getting the Star Key. When I came back up the ladder I walked around to the other ladder & went up (at least I think it's up), but I can't get across the single water tile to get to the red teleporters ...

Use the baby boomer at the top left to stand on & off the timer button at the very top left & then click on your baby ...
