Wonderland Adventures - Irrevocable decisions?

Post by chrise » Mon Feb 26, 2007 7:53 pm

Hello,
I am just starting to play Wonderland Adventures. It looks very nice so far. However, I have found myself in the position of having completed an adventure but missing some really easy gems . Whilst I do not mind too much about adventures which can be accidentally finished (although I did prefer the earlier games where there was a clear, unique exit which did not simply correspond to collecting the last of something), I would like to know whether there is any way to replay an adventure after completing it. I tried clicking again on the star but could not get the adventure to restart. If a way to do this will become apparent later in the game, please say so but do not reveal it. As it was, I had not saved the game yet, so replayed everything up until that adventure (fortunately I had not done much). Clearly this is not a good technique for later in the game.

On a related note, I would also like to know whether there is any point in the game at which a choice you make can make it impossible to progress further in the game (not just an individual adventure), or block off a portion of the game from you. If these exist, are they clearly marked, or can a seemingly casual decision have that effect? Note that I do not want to be told anything about any secret features which may be present, only the main game!

As I said, I have not got very far with the game yet, but I would like to know these things before starting so that I can adopt the appropriate policy of saving games.

Thanks,
Christopher Elsby

Hi Christopher,

there will be a way to return to played levels later on in the game

Replaying levels will be available further in the game. Just wander around and perhaps you'll figure out how to do it.

Thanks for the information.
I do not want to be told any more about replaying adventures - I will wait until I reach that point (probably quite a while as I won't have much time to play).

However, I am still interested in the issue of irrevocable choices in the game. I guess nobody could tell for sure that there are aren't any except Patrick...
If you don't want to give it away, that is okay, but if you say for certain (and truthfully ) that there are no opportunities to block off game possibilities then it will somewhat improve the experience for me - otherwise, being rather paranoid and something of a perfectionist, I'll feel compelled to keep around saved games from almost every point in the game just in case...

If there is an item which would allow you to get back to any point in the game (I mean the hub now, not just individual adventures), please do not tell me about it!!! Patrick, if such an item exists, please just say that there are no opportunities for blocking things off.

I am not sure what you actually mean! :? Blocking what off? The whole adventure i.e. different lands to explore are all re-visitable again and again.

Is that what you mean? So far, I have been able to walk around the whole land without any areas closing once completed.

Hope that helps :)

What I mean is, a permanent mistake which you can make.
So you do the wrong thing and it is then impossible to complete the game... but perhaps you do not find that out for quite a long time (thus tempting you to save, and remove your old saved games from before the mistake).

Hi Chrise,

there are, to my knowledge, no such things. I always felt that was an unfair thing in a game (make a mistake in step 1, find out that you shouldn't have done that at step 12).

There is one place you could make the irrevocable mistake. That's at the green gate in the sewers. If you blink through it instead of finding the key to unlock it you may get stuck on the other side with no way out. Mahaloof found out the hard way.
