Suggestion for a new feature

Post by Milchi » Thu Aug 05, 2004 3:14 pm

Should there ever be plans for a new edition or a major update for Wonderland, I would suggest to implement a save feature within (!) the levels.

I don't know how other players feel about this, but for me it's just too time consuming to try and solve a level (which in itself is often fun) and have to do already solved parts over and over again. Even if spare time were abundant, there are so many hobbies :)
Having to redo large parts again also reduced my concentration, which may be the main reason why I'm having so much difficulty in solving some levels. :?

I know not all wishes come true, but wouldn't it be great also with the "crash problem" in mind?

Gee, where were you back when Patrick gave out sneaks to the game and then announced that DRTW would be available in mid-June (eventually pushed to July)? People at that time, if not earlier, have already suggested the ability to save your progress mid-way on a level.

Midnight Synergy did actually try doing this, but eventually Patrick said it never made past testing stage and so in the interest of time they dropped it. Apparently the game engine's just not written with this sort of thing in mind, so it's very difficult for them to implement this feature correctly.

And so unless they're going to do a complete rewrite of the program, it's unlikely your wish will be granted. Sorry.

I'm not here that often - so I post when an idea/question comes up.

Sorry for the use of space :)

Oh hee, sorry my response's tone didn't come out quite right, wasn't trying to be nasty about it. Just that there was so much commotion back when Patrick released all those teasers, and since you've been around way before that time, I thought you must've picked up all the suggestions about having an "undo" feature or a "midway save" feature--quite a number of people said they wanted the feature, but in the end MS couldn't get it done.
