When you hit prtscn on your keyboard to take a screen shot it "saves" on your clip board. You need a program that will create that image "from clip board".

Lets say you want to use "Paint" that comes with Windows. Hit Prtscn on your keyboard, then open paint and go to "edit" then "paste" and there it is. You can adjust the size or crop out whatever you want to.

Just make sure you resize them so they don't take up much more than the screen. In other words, make them around 400 pixels wide and then whatever the image height resizes to would work.
