I've already broken WA3. HEEEEEELP!!!

Post by yot yot5 » Thu Oct 24, 2013 3:35 pm

I've been happily playing WA3 for the past few hours, and I've exited and re-opened the game many times. However, a few minutes ago, I tried to open up the game and found the display setting was stuck on windowed. I click on the "windowed" text, and the "ping" sound plays, but nothing happens.

My PC had an unexpected shutdown just before this happened, so I expect that had something to do with it. Any ideas on how I could fix this problem?

EDIT: Also, whenever I load up the game on a windowed display setting, the game seems to be on a ridiculously small window.

EDIT AGAIN: So I used my mouse to re-size the ridiculously small window, and my "controls" setting is stuck on "mouse only", even though the option-text says "mouse/keyboard". WHAT IS GOING ON???

If your PC shutdown on you, that might be the issue. Maybe something was in the middle of saving when it turned off. Go to the WAPOTZ User file directory and delete the global.wdf and display.wdf file. That should reset the game to its default on the next startup.

I've just re-installed the game after backing up my saves, so it's all back to normal now.

Thanks for the info, though! I'll try deleting those files if it happens again.
