I don't think this is just happening to me, and it's not a problem just something I noticed.
When you used to make a level with models, and someone didn't want the models, they could still play the level but with pillars instead of the models, right?
Now with the textures, if a level contains custom textures and you don't download them the level won't play at all and the game crashes (at least on my machine). I don't know if this is meant to happen or a bug, but just so you all know if you don't download the textures it's a waste of time downloading the level. Unless of course you put it in the editor and take out the custom textures, but that seems like hard work to me and it's easier to download the textures.
I'm only bringing this up cos I've noticed that more people are downloading the little test levels than are downloading the textures.

Yes I noticed this too. So far my machine has coped with the zipped for textures etc, but I know there will be a day when it won't. With the models and houses I found that a lot of the time I had to download the game, then play it, then download the zip files and have a look at the level for visual effect rather than try and play it all in as my machine couldn't cope. Hope it doesn't happen with the textures

That's a good point popo, you absolutely need to install the customtextures to play a level with such textures. I'll change that in a later update (probably mid-January) so that it reverts to Wood texture if no custom is found.
BTW folks, also remember to use the "(Advanced)" designation when you post a level with customtextures.

I have downloaded a few of the advanced with textures but my pc crashes every time as it cannot find the texture for that game, everything is right where it should be, but I have no luck, have tried re downloading the custom textures but still no go. I get a small text message at the top of the game saying it cannot find it in textures, press esc to get out, when I do I am thrown out altogether.

I've had the same problem before until I found out that my computer had created extra sub-folders inside CustomTextures while unzipping. Whenever I unzip a texture folder, it always creates sub-directories inside and I have to go back and delete them before playing the level. The same thing happened to me with CustomModels and houses, etc... Maybe this is why the game keeps crashing for you.

This might help you - when you are extracting with Winzip - make sure you have "ticked" these boxes:

If you're using Windows extraction tool then open rather than save the zip file. When it's downloaded a window will popup and you can click on 'extract all' in the left panel. When the extraction window opens browse to your CustomTextures folder then click next. They will then be extracted without an extra folder and be ready to use.
If you save them first to the CustomTextures folder, and then extract them there, you will end up with a double folder and the game won't recognise the folder.

Many thanks Pauline, I always like to know why something happens, any wonder I am a Wonderland addict. I will try it tonight when I download some others.
Merry Christmas
