I'm sure that they use Blitz3D for the programming.
http://www.blitzmax.com/Products/_index_.php
They might also use BlitzMax & Blitz3D SDK, too.

If I were to choose a programming language I would
choose Blitz3D as my favorite because it is powerful,
flexible, very user friendly, ... and it's not complicated like
Microsoft's Visual Studio { C++ }.

For creating the game models (and texturing them), they
may have used Autodesk 3ds MAX, then later on
the Blitz language loads these into the main program.

Here is a list of other popular programming languages:

DarkBasic: http://darkbasic.thegamecreators.com/
{ This is the perhaps the other programming language
that is most similar to Blitz3D, and like Blitz3D,
this shall take a week or longer to master. }

Wow Virtlands, that's comprehensive!!!
Thankyou so much!
My dad got a copy of Blitz 3d, and we have started to get to grips with it, although it is early days...
If we need any more help we know where to come.
