WonderlandESQUE games.
It's my husbands birthday soon and I'm stumped. I would get him the new Wonderland if there was one, but as there isn't one has anyone got any ideas what games he'd like instead.

So he wants a puzzle game? Or what?

Classic Trilogy style or Adventure-like?
For Classic style, I know there's "The Goobs" and "Logic Trap". I haven't played them, but people tell me it's really similar.
The Goobs: http://www.redclawgames.com/goobs.php
Logic Trap: http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_i ... 4537574841 (can't find official link)
There's also "Spongebob Squarepants Krabby Quest" from the authors of Wonderland! However, it's really easy. I was able to finish the whole thing in 2 days.

For a different kind of puzzle game, there's the freeware SubTerra, I and II, it's awesome.

Chip's Challenge is an old obscure game that is a cult classic among puzzle fans... but I wouldn't recommend it, I think it's very mediocre for various reasons.
Tile World (open source clone of Chip's Challenge): http://www.muppetlabs.com/~breadbox/software/tworld/
I don't know of any game that is similar to the Adventures style.

Rest in peace, Kym. I hardly knew ya.
Rest in peace, Marinus. A bright star, you were ahead of me on my own tracks of thought. I miss you.

The gameplay isn't that similar to Wonderland other than pushing different types of boxes onto buttons, but you do have to think, and there's clever puzzles, so maybe he would like them.

i should change my signature to be rude to people who hate pictures of valves
Except they both have "Show Solution" as an in-game feature for EVERY LEVEL. I like those games, but it's a dumb feature IMO. The second game (Molten Mystery) has a step-counter feature, though, which is really epic. Hall of Fame scores are hard to achieve, even in the regular set. Even a few levels from the kid set can be a bit tricky on "minimum steps".

I did a tiny bit of research into this since your link is now broken, and I've got some new links for everyone.Muzozavr wrote:Logic Trap: http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_i ... 4537574841 (can't find official link)

It appears the company "Fairygames" is now nonexistant, so the game's official page is no longer available. However, I've dug up an archived version of it. I've also found that the official page to buy it is still up, however I don't know if you can actually still buy it. Looks like you can, though.
Logic Trap Main Page: http://web.archive.org/web/200901231803 ... ctrap.html
Logic Trap Details Page: http://web.archive.org/web/200901251725 ... tails.html
Download Logic Trap Demo (Untimed, as far as I can tell; restricted access to levels): http://web.archive.org/web/200901251725 ... ictrap.exe
Buy Logic Trap: https://secure.element5.com/shareit/che ... ge=English

You can gift him some user-made Wonderland Adventure hubs. Even that is WonderlandESQUE.
You can find my custom hub called WA-The New Paradise Quest here. It's similar to WA1 and WA2

He does not want a less-professional level pack that is free anyways as a gift. Also, it's not exactly the best form to advertise your projects like that.
shameless advertising.Blazeknight wrote:You can gift him some user-made Wonderland Adventure hubs. Even that is WonderlandESQUE.

No problem, if that was what you were meaning to do in the first placeBlazeknight wrote:Oops! I never thought it was advertising. What I did was selflessly gifting something I did for playing by others. I put that link in the intention that the person would like something like wonderland. But I never thought it was an advertisement. I'm sorry if it hurt people. Really sorry.
