PUZZLES VERSUS "BANGS"

Post by TASHA » Thu Feb 24, 2005 8:09 pm

Am I the only one who enjoys puzzle aventures as opposed to levels that just blast you at every turn & become so totally frustrating that you just give up"???? With puzzles you want to start again & really try to solve the whole level, but with these other disasters you just plain "GIVE UP" & never want to see them again. Let's have more "puzzle" adventures where you can really "sink your teeth" into solving the level.

Well said Tasha, I am in total agreement with you.

This might get a bit more notice if you post it in General Discussion.

Hi All:

Thanks for all your "speedy" replies"--you must spend as much time in this site as I do -- 24/7!! I really meant to post this on "General Discussions" but hit the wrong button. I'll repost in the appropriate area.

You guys are just the "GREATEST"!!

Hi Tasha ... I think we all have different needs - I'd rather play medium difficulty levels, puzzles or bangs, over and over again to better my score then keep on trying impossible ones until I drive myself round the twist. (aka Give Up) .

I CANNOT COPE with UFOs but always have a bash - sometimes I come up trumps.

It sure is a mixed bag ....

Hi TASHA,

I have just posted up a puzzle level for you - I assume you have RTW Deluxe as it is posted up on the Deluxe Forum.

kaz67 - The only levels that have ever gone up on this Forum that are IMPOSSIBLE are those that are not tested properly

To All those I might have offended:

I certainly don't mean to take anything away from anyone who designs levels, , everyone has done a terrific job, -- all I meant by my comments is that I, in my own "strange" way, find it more fun to try to sort thru a level "step-by-step" than to get "blasted" in my first step & not have the slightest clue what to do next let alone have the time to decide. I would rather spend hours/days trying to go thru a level than to get "blasted" immediately upon my first step!!

I realize "to each his own" , I was just expressing my "humble" opinion.

Lillian:

Kiss, kiss, kiss -- really, and I truly mean it, your levels are the 'GREATEST". Some of them keep me guessing for days & this is what I enjoy!!!!

Tasha

P.S. -- Hope the sleet stops soon -- spring is "just around the corner"????

Hi Tasha,

I agree with you also. I love the puzzle "lets see.....I have to go here....how can I do it" types. The ones that I feel totally lost, no clue which way to go, getting chased or shot at (especially UFO's) I usually get so flustered and mad I give up quickly. I don't like the feeling that some levels give me, making me want to throw my monitor on the floor!!
Yes, I'm a donkey......
and I'm purple.....
and I am Polly, Minnie's little sister.

Oh, I agree also. I love working them over and over again, hopefully each time getting a bit further along.

I'll keep those in my folder long after I've deleted the ones I know I'll never be able to do. I don't play with the timer on - I just enjoy the satisfaction of finally getting all the pieces put together in the right order, and getting the guys home.

Yes please - more of these levels.

I am in awe of all the level makers, and I know some younger players with fast brains and even faster fingers probably love the impossible levels, but it seems an awful lot of us prefer the slow steady, think it through puzzles. So ..... keep making, please.

I agree with the majority here - puzzles that make your brain work are the best. Dodge & run & avoid do not appeal to me. Although I have to add that some of the monsters in levels certainly do require problem-solving -- knowing how they move & figuring out what to do to get rid of them. I used to absolutely hate levels with any z-bots in them - then I figured them out. Now I find them intriguing in levels! Just another opinion here!
