Wonderland Bonus Coin tracking
As a completionist and fan of the Wonderland series, I think it would be really cool if the original Wonderland kept track of all of the bonus points and gave you a golden level icon like the later games did! I recently beat the first game and got all of the bonus points I could, but I really want to be sure that I got everything. Perhaps in an update, this could be added? It would be weird if a game from 2002 got updated in 2018, but I think it's worth it. I would play the entire game again in a heartbeat just to make sure I got all of them!
Hello and welcome to the forums!
I have strong disbelief that such game would be updated today just for that one extra feature. I'm pretty sure that game was the way it was intended to be, where bonus coins don't matter much, and more for how many points you can get in the game.
Though, if you want to be sure you've gotten all of the bonuses, you can keep track of them yourself on paper, notepad, or spreadsheet to name a few ideas. Oh, and congrats for getting all of those bonuses! I'm currently in the process of doing it myself!

If there was a document that told of exactly how many bonus coins were in each level, that could work, but I would have to check all of the levels to see if I remember getting them. And I thought that the game wouldn't be updated for that reason too, but I still think that the bonus coins are a fun extra challenge that should be kept track of so that we don't have to. I suppose if it doesn't happen, then it's not really required for completion, but they're just THERE. Taunting you. It almost feels like they were built to be kept track of, and the addition of tracking would technically add a lot more content simply by being there as a completion task. BTW, how's your 100% run of the series doing? Don't forget Krabby Quest!

Thank you! I'm glad to be here. I don't think it would need to be an optional setting because it doesn't affect the game like playing it in no-timed-mode would. All it does is keep track of bonuses. However, since tracking has not been in place before this point, we will probably need to play levels again to get the gold check, which might be weird to someone who just downloads this potential update, so maybe that would be a reason for having it as an extra option.

I've recently 100%ed the entire original trilogy and I gotta say I'm glad the first Wonderland game has optional bonus coins. Unlike the later games, they're not necessarily placed in a way to make getting them all enjoyable and generally only exist as a "how many can you get" challenge. That being said updates for these games are basically unrealistic.

I've personally found getting all of them very enjoyable to get since they offer challenges otherwise nonexistent. And as far as it being unrealistic goes, I agree, but a man can dream I just kinda feel like I still have to collect these for 100% completion, even though they're not technically required. RoberTimes idea of a spreadsheet was actually pretty good, which I think I'll make soon. Also, you haven't completed the series unless you've completed Krabby Quest! It's almost as if I'm the only one who knows there's a 4th classic game...

I didn't know how to normally share spreadsheets, so I just snipped it and called it a day. Anyway, here is what I found! The letters are levels, and the numbers are worlds. #11 is the Playground. Please make sure to correct me if any of the numbers you see on the spreadsheet are wrong.

It is I, Billy Bob!
It's just that... I couldn't help but notice this page that you created: https://www.speedrun.com/Wonderland
You're more than just that though, aren't you?Triple-0 67 wrote:As a completionist and fan of the Wonderland series...

Thank you for noticing! When I started playing Wonderland again after several years, I thought that Wonderland could be an interesting speed game despite its puzzling nature because of the strategy involved. Even in the Unique Demo Levels any% category (which is by far the shortest), I've still managed to find several neat tricks and I still had to do some practice in order to get my best time.
Billy Bob is the master of speedrunning the WA series. He's used all the little tricks and glitches to gain extremely fast times. He's beat Wonderland Adventures (Any %) in under half an hour! I think MoFI's time was 49 minutes or something like that, and PoTZ's time was about an hour and twenty minutes? (I don't remember)
However, I'm not a speedrunning person, but I do enjoy watching them.
