Hi all,
A while back I had a problem with the forum, because it kept logging me out every other minute. I stayed on the site, but had to log in again. The advice I got then was to check the box "log me in automaticly on each visit" and just close the Internet Explorer without ever logging off. This has worked very well for me untill now, but it is happening again. I'll probably have to log in again when I try to post this.
Something else is happening as well: The forum seems to have lost all abilities to remember which posts I have read. All the very old ones are marked as read (as they were before), but the new ones only gets marked as read when I'm logged out. If I for instance read a post that is marked as unread and return to the forum afterwards, the post is still marked as unread, even if there's nothing new there.
Can anybody tell me what's wrong? Or what I'm doing wrong? Nothing has changed on my computer recently. No virus, no spyware, no addware, regular disk checks etc.
Mette
EDIT: I was right. I
did have to log in again after posting this. It's rather frustrating

I don't know what's causing this Mette, I've been experiencing strange things too.
I don't get the banner telling me a new PM has arrived.
I lost the Discussion Board from my favourites the other day, don't know why!
My mouse has started to have a mind of it's own and flits all over the place.
Messages have disappeared from my inbox without me deleting them.
Maybe it does that when we reach 100%.
Spooks?

Thanks to Kymmie.

Hi Mette,
I've had this happen a couple of times before in the past. Not sure if the problem was at my end or Patrick's.
Anyway, first time I cleared my 'Temporary Internet Files' and cookies in IE and it went away.
Second time it happened, I was using Firefox, (still am). I done the same thing, just cleared Cache and cookies and it was fixed.
As I said, not sure if it
was this causing it,

but it worked for me. Might be worth a try.

Where is everyone thesedays? PM me and say hello.

Mette - have you tried increasing the cache size in IE options? Just a thought.

I had trouble with my mouse doing it's own thing a while ago. It cleared up after my antivirus found some adware. It was ok for a while then started again. It was an old mouse so I got a new one. It's been ok since. Of course, it's sod's law that it will start again now I have said that.
I cleared all my cookies out the other day as I was having trouble logging into a website, but it caused more trouble than it solved with my online banking. I won't do it again in a hurry.
Are you sure no-one knows your password for logging on here? I don't know if it could happen if two people were logged in with the same name at the same time.
I was also advised to go into options in IE and make sure the 'check for new versions of web pages on every visit' was checked. Mine had been on 'automatic' before that.

I just deleted my cookies in "Internet Options". Just had dinner, came back and had to log back on to the forum! That is definately the cause of the log-in problem.

You will have to log on again after you delete your cookies cos they are what remember you from previous log ons. I had to log on after I deleted mine, but now it is back to normal.

I remember someone telling us that before, might have been Loofie Lugs.
No matter how much mail I get, it sticks at 100%. S'not fair.

It can't get more that 102%, it's already too much for what I've asked.
Pitty it cant count up to 103, it keeps deleting old messages when I recieve a new one.

Delete your messages K, save the ones you want to keep.
Are you busy making a list?

Make a file for them and keep them on your computer.
Easy peasy, lemon squeezy.
Well, did you make a list????????

Hi all,
I cleared out my cookies, my files and the history of Internet Explorer and rebooted my computer last night. It had no effect whatsoever!

Nothing has been done since then (on my end of things), but now everything is back to normal
I think it must have been something on the forum gone wrong
Thanks all for helping
Mette
