Post by gr8places » Sun Jan 14, 2007 6:28 am

My first attempt, still haven't got the hang of the floors.
I adore the snow textures..

:D :D :D Welcome to level making! :D :D :D

You did fine on the floors 8)

I had a very enjoyable time searching the forest for its treasures, Ran into a little trouble along the way with some certain spikes, The cannon came in handy also, Thanks!
I think your first level was excellent.

I hope to see more from you. :D :D :D

Excellent first level.

I think you've done a good job with the floors too.

This has taken quite a few tries to get things in the right order. The sticky cube puzzle was good. The bit in the top corner with the cannon, electros and spikes was :twisted:

Looking forward to more - thanks! :D :D

I agree with Liz and Kiki (two who know a little something about making levels :wink:) this was a very good puzzle and a lot of fun to work through!

I did have a metal object left over, was I supposed to use that somewhere?

Anyhoo, my thanks!

No, not supposed to go any where, but in the wrong direction at the wrong time could block a path! :D

I so wanted to use shorty's fog texture, but couldn't find it. So much fun to hide things in "snow"!

If you're thinking of something that appears to be snowdrifts across the level, then you need a model made by Steve Seaman: sfsfog

You'll have to get it from Mette's site because I'm still having upload problems for graphics.

If you need help using models let me know. :D

Thanks for the lead; :D
I got the model into the game, but not where I wanted it. How do you control where it goes?

I just got thru your level and found it to be a great challenge. Glad you couldn't find the fog cuz I needed to see where I wanted to go. I didn't use the steel box either nor did I put it in the wrong place so I was able to get thru. I look forward to more levels :D :D Thank you for the fun!

I've taken a look at the model and it seems to be just under 14 x 14 tiles. The dead spot (or point of origin) is the bottom left corner. So if you put the A tile somewhere on your level, the model will extend 14 up and 14 to the right. You can't walk on the dead spot. Hope this helps. :D

Thank you, that did help. I wasn't sure about the A.
Does that mean I can put a second model in there and use B to assign where it goes?

If there is only one model in the model file, that is model1. Every time you place the A tile, the model will be repeated. You can use one model many times in a level.

You can use up to 4 different models in one level. You can use each model as many times as you want, though if you use too many it can make the game go a bit jittery when you play it.

Model1 = A
Model2 = B
Model3 = C
Model4 = D

Up from page 5 :P

Took me nearly a month to finish this brilliant level.
Got a bit further each time I played and today I finally saw what had to be done.
Excellent fun and a superb first level. Thanks :D
