Good luck!

Love the models but as with most of your levels I am stuck right at the get go.
Will give it another look in a day or so.

PS - I have been a Star Trek fan from the original back in the sixties to the most recent movie.

Freeing Qookie was easy and the chomper area was good fun, but getting them both out was a tough humdinger which took me many hours.

Thanks.

This is Spock. It is only logical to assume that one would need help to get the Enterprise off the ground. Although I am quite capable of solving this myself, Mr. Scott in the engine room requires your help. Jim? Jim?

Depending how you start the puzzle, you get 2 totally different path of solutions... actually very cool :)

Amnon came out with this very clever solution and I'm debating what solution to choose to give hints (maybe even a combination of both solutions, or even 2 video solutions) ... Just bare with us... Hints will be on the way soon

Here is a key move in the very beginning that is required in both methods (highlight the hint below to be spolied):
When standing on the blue button with the pinkie cube to your right, go left and in about half-a-second go back to the right: you will find yourself inside a pinkie cube, which you can then push to the left and into the water.

This probably means that you are doing it my way - I've been at that stage too: blow some whistle if you need a hint.

Star Trek..

I notice that about 50% of the users download the level but not the textures and models... I was just wondering why? I notice this for every level I created... Is this because some users don't know how? or just a personal choice? Anyway... This is what the level should look like...

Well I certainly downloaded the models, they are fantastic. My only problem is I'm going to have to remove them in order to even attempt to play the level. I haven't done the budha one yet. I guess the models are so extensive that just loading them was a chore. They are simply beautiful and some don't know what they are missing out on but they could be like me and not have enough RAM.

As I'm moving to Vancouver June 1st, I've been pretty busy packing for almost 3 weeks and didn't have time to create video solutions lately. For the moment, here's what you should see before you get on the enterprise following method 1 or method 2 (Amnon's clever solution ;)). I hope that helps for now...

Many thanks to Amnon...

And here's the intended way Video Solution:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXSJEtYO-kY

Which is way harder to accomplish ;) ... especially trapping the boulder and the timing with the barrel which is why I used a longer walk path when I push it on the conveyor; it gives me the exact timing I need for Loof to enter the barrel. I basically kill the chomper only at the end so that the chomper warp creates a chomper that walks the timer so that Loof & Qookie can exit.

Somehow I missed Amnon clever way out which I could have avoided by having a one time break tile below the exit gate instead of the Star Trek federation crest! But honestly I prefer the way Amnon solved it and it turned out to be a very good puzzle that way with 2 totally different solutions!

Note: It doesn't seem many players have found Skull Island (Secret Level) which is where the real fun is... heyhey...

I'm a bit late with this, but that's because the "Words of Buddha" was so hard that I was not able to play it, even with the walkthrough. But since the level was still in my "to play" folder, finally I decided to give it a try though. Right from the start I had no idea what to do, so I watched the video's, which made me a little bit wiser about the beginning, but for the rest of the level it still wasn't quite clear to me. Fortunately I found an easier way, not using most of the items. I had the steelbox on the conveyor-button and said "live long and prosper" to the chomper. I think today or tomorrow I'll try also to play the versions of the video's. Maybe'I'll try also your newest level soon, but I still think, although it's great you can make such levels, they are too hard.

Thanks for the fun. :D :D

Sorry Marinus!

"The Words of Buddha" was very very hard because of the intricate timing of some key moves! I went too hard on that particular level and I truly appologize! I won't go as hard from now on....

After!I had realized that, I made sure my 2 next levels (Star Trek: rescue mission and "the 301th Spartan") which have some tricky moves no doubt! were not quite as intricate with timing but still have some creative moves to give them a good challenge expected by an advanced level!

I always make sure I post a video solution so the players can learn how I solve it and try it on their own to improve there skills! If a move gives you problem, please edit the level to practice that move to get that timing right! This is how i create my levels!

Thanks.

I used to do that but my problem is, even if I'm able to do such tricky moves, I'll probably never be able to do them twice or more after each other without making a mistake. I think one need steel nerves to be a stuntman, to be captain of the Enterprise, or to play your levels, and I admire Jean Luc and Louis for having those skills, but I'm afraid I would never finish Starfleet Academy. :(

I practiced a long time and I could do the "through TP inside barrel move" about 1 out of 10 times. Only once I could finish the level that way, but not with the woodbox pushing over the conveyor while the chomper walked over the conveyorbutton. I used the steelbox temporarely on the conveyorbutton then. Except that one little difference I did exactly as on the video, pushing the steelbox all the way up to the blue button.

I also tried that "chomper conveyorbutton move" several times, and the best thing I could do was splitting that move in 2 parts, so I let the chomper walk over the button 2 times. That time I didn't do the "inside barrel move" but I went fast through the TP and stepped down on the breaktile before the barrel came through.

Now I intend to try the way of the other video, avoiding the Cardassian disruptors. Be back later.

hi Marinus,

I just tried your move:

Stepping on the timer for the conveyor, pushing the barrel on it, and quickly entering the pink TP and stepping down on the break tile before the barrel hits you!

Awesome move! I missed that! I would have used it in my solution! It's actually quite easy to do!

To go inside the barrel is very hard if you try to guess it! But if from the time you step on the timer, you go as fast as you can to follow the longer path I take on the video to push the barrel on the paused conveyor and enter the pink TP, you get the exact timing required to enter the barrel!!! I could do it every time this way...

But honestly, your move is way better! Use that for sure :)

Now I finally played both ways as shown on the video's. After all the "chomper button move" was not that extremely hard, and in Amnon's way I had to use it. That was also interesting how to do the sticky cubes. There are some things I don't understand. At 1:09 of the video there come 3 cubes out of the generator. Where does the left box stay? It seems to go into the TP, but it doesn't come out of the other TP. However, it is not destroyed, for at 1:14 no new cubes come out of the generator.

Also I think it's weird you can walk right quickly from the icecurve in front of the Cardassian ship into the TP without getting shot, but not from the TP left.

After playing the alternate version I also tried to play exactly the intended way. And although I do exactly as you explained and is shown on the video, I only can go alive inside the barrel about 10 % of the times. Maybe I loose a few milliseconds at the moments of changing direction. However, I managed to play it also that way.

Although I didn't solve anything by myself, except for an unintended way which was not really a challenge, I enjoyed playing this. Thanks! :D :D :D

Probably I'll also try your newest level, but maybe not today or tomorrow though. :)

If you edit the level, you'll see that there's a black TP inside the cardassian ship as well... this is where the sticky cubes goes! You're right it is not destroyed and that's why the generator doesn't start.

"I think it's weird you can walk right quickly from the icecurve in front of the Cardassian ship into the TP without getting shot, but not from the TP left."

That's because going through a TP doesn't accelerate you! while the ice does!

Here's something really important to know for level makers: ice and conveyor speeds you up by 1/2 tile and trampoline slows you down by 1/2 tile. This can be used to get inside an object! Look at the bottom right puzzle of "the 301th spartan", and you'll see what you can do with those rules!!! Very kool stuff!

Also concerning loof in the barrel, you have to hold the buttons to predict the next move not to waist time at all.

And for the chomper conveyor button move, it's actually easy... just push the box on the conveyor as soon as the chomper "starts" to touch the conveyor button.

Good luck on "the 301th Spartan"!

:D Thanks for the explanation. Of course I knew about the TP in the Cardassian ship, but I didn't think of that. Also the other things seem quite logical to me. Thanks. :D
