Dammit, I did come inches away from discovering this solution, but did not see it... Amnon, you rock!

I've been playing this in seperate sections off and on over the weekend and I have most of it figured out, I used a slightly different set-up for the cannon but same technique.

It's now Monday morning and the work week has begun and Wonderland time becomes limited. So here's the thing, I can't see the set-up for the pink tp room, I know what I want to do but it's not happening, some help there would be appreciated.

Thanks. :D

I made it!
I made it!
I made it!

I stand in awe of the last red-sphere puzzle.

And of course the main puzzle, but I won't say anything about it.

There is still an element of uncertainty towards the end, and a few objects must have meant to be red-herrings, but nothing a big deal.

5:10 minutes left.

Thank you very much for this grand level!!!

1. Enter that room only once. This means that the shadow has to prepare everything in advance.
2. You have no need for the ice cube on the left/control room: dump it as soon as you enter, so it will not stand in your way.
3. Let the shadow push the box, but then return to his cage.
4. Do what's needs to be done in the control room only while the shadow is in his cage, this means that you need to stop from time to time until the timer expires.
5. Once ready, step on the timer, then: L-L-U-U-WAIT-D-D-U-U-L-D-L-U-D-R-U-R-D-U-U-R-R-Up all the way, left and down the other side; Once through the TP, D-R-D-U-L-Up (through TP)-U-U-D-R-R-R-L-L-L-Down all the way, Up till in line with the transporter, Right to the transporter, Down-without stopping: you find yourself inside the ice cube!!!

Congratulations Amnon! You're the first one to solve it!!!

As usual, I can tell you found a different way to solve it by your previous comments. Due to the size of the puzzle and its intricacy, it was sorta expected! I'm sure we missed few ways out!

On the other hand, you said : "There is still an element of uncertainty towards the end, and a few objects must have meant to be red-herrings"

If you place your characters on the right spots, be patient and wait for the right time, there shouldn't be any uncertainty at all!!! Good timing yes... but no luck! This is what I meant by: "There is a way to solve it every single time without any luck"

Correct! Some objects are red-herrings just to throw you off... but maybe some aren't and it could be something we missed.

Anyhow, solving it on its own is a great achievement especially inside 10 minutes!!! (did it in 7:36 but could probably drop it another minute... )

the shadow has to prepare everything in advance
I had a bad feeling that that was the case.

I'll try it when I get a chance, thanks.

Regarding the element of uncertainty, I still believe that even when you do all the right things and wait patiently, it can happen:

No, there's a way that works every time.
It IS a difficult section though...

Ah silly me! I can now see the small difference: don't take the box all the way to the top-left corner - stop it one tile shorter. Thanks!

Wooden boxes cannot stop spheres, so the first step is to swap between the super-hard ice-cube, so it can go up on the left, and the soft box which should hold the cyan gate open for it.

To get there, Mr. ghost helps us to reverse the ususal TP directions.

The best way to solve this is to break it apart room by room...

The Park
The Yellow & Green Boulder Room
The Eerie Forest
The Torture Chamber
The Reflector Room
The Ghost and Travelator Room
The Walking Bomb Path
The Red Boulder Room
The Crypt
The Cemetary
The Haunted Castle

Obviously some rooms will be difficult since they interact with each other, as some elements will be missing but that's ok! As you try to solve the room, eventually you'll see what's missing...

As a hint example: The Torture Chamber (which should be solved first) and The Eerie Forest (then solve it in reverse, making sure you carefully select when to step on certain breaktiles) are related to each other! Once you solve it, maintain your position and link it to the Haunted Castle puzzle.

Please don't give up! Muzozavr and I worked really hard on this one, and solving it will be very rewarding for each of you.

Good Luck to all!

Muzozavr and I just made a revision of the level... This took a lot of work! Amnon had found easier way out of few puzzles in the level so we corrected it with his help.

Many Thx to Amnon which Genius never ceases to amaze!!!
He solved the original way by himself and helped us understanding how to fix the entire level...

Please understand that updating the level is far from taking away his success... on the contrary, without his input, we couldn't have produced this revised level since we missed it! :)

The level is a lot more challenging now... The sections affected are:
1) The Park
2) The Eerie Forest
3) The Torture Chamber
4) The Reflector Room
5) The Ghost and Travelator Room

With Amnon's help, we also found out that the level requires v3.01 of RTW since v3.0 has a glitch.. please make sure you have v3.01
What glitch?! Do you mean model-related stuff?

EDIT: I downloaded the latest revision -- that "extra" box in the reflector section is totally genius, LOL.

Actually according to Amnon, when 2 reflectors shoot at each other in v3.00 the fire balls stop each other while in v3.01 they pass through each other! I couldn't test it myself so I took his word for it.

Also Amnon couldn't see the models so maybe the software limits for models is higher on v3.01 and that could make a difference since we push the software to its limits to fit all the models.

Sorry about reporting the "version" problem - I tried the "official" solution again in version 3.00 and this time it worked. I just wasn't quick enough last night, it was very late and reflexes must be slower when one is tired. Now in the morning I managed to do it.

Hello LeMarquis and Muzozavr,
The models with .3ds ending will not display as pictures in my computer.

To see the models properly in the game, you have to have all the .3ds files in the following directory:

C:\...\Return To Wonderland\CustomModels\MarquisM18

depending where you installed return to wonderland...

if you still can't see the models in the game, you might not have enough ram.

the video

Post by janellesnip » Wed Jan 13, 2010 9:41 pm

Hi LeMarquis,
I tried to complete the level by watching your video, but it is such a dark video that I cannot make out what Loof is doing. I am still stuck trying to make the ice and the wooden cubes switch places. Sorry to seem stupid...

Erm, turn up the brightness on your monitor? The vid looks OK to me.
I am still stuck trying to make the ice and the wooden cubes switch places
Ice cubes can block ghosts, but when teleporters are around, can ghosts block ice cubes?

And you're not stupid at all -- this is a very difficult level with both of us using some of our most EVIL tricks yet. I still have troubles finishing the "shadow dude" part that LeMarquis created.

Can anyone be of some more help for this level? I have followed the directions, a bit confusing I might add, and it doesn't seem to be working that way.
