Yes I think you are. Suss is a well established word in the English vocabulary. For instance, if you are trying to put together some flat pack furniture and the instructions are puzzling, then all of a sudden you understand them, you would say, "It's ok, I've sussed it". Or you might say to a criminal, "You've been sussed, mate", meaning 'you've been found out'.
