editor question

Post by uneekrose » Tue Aug 22, 2006 1:23 pm

I just started making levels (caught the bug) and when I'm switching between the editor and my level so I can make sure everythings playable I end up with several editor windows open. Is this normal. It's really no biggie, I'm just curious about that.

Don't know. I always EXIT the editor before testing the level.

That used to happen to me, but it doesn't now.

I just toggle between the game and the editor. Here's how:

1 Open the game, and click CUSTOM LEVELS. Then press Alt and Tab at the same time. This takes you back to the desktop and the game is minimised on the taskbar.

2 Open the editor and do your stuff. SAVE and then press Alt and Tab at the same time again. You will be taken back to the game and you can test your level right away.

3 To go back into the editor, make sure you press ESC from that level and choose SELECT NEW LEVEL, so you just have a list of levels available to edit. Press Alt and Tab at the same time, and you are back in the editor.

Let me know if you have any problems! Good luck with level making. :D

yea, that makes sense, I usually just press my windows key on the keyboard since that brings me back to the desktop when I'm stuck on a level I'm playing so I can come to the forum and do a search. I never thought about switching back and forth from the editor to the game........great idea........thanks Liz

For some reason I can't do it. When the game minimises, either because of Alt+Tab, Win key, or something else, I can't return to the game without having it to exit with a MAV. :o

I was having that problem but since I installed a new graphics card I no longer have problems. You might check your settings or see if your drivers need upgrading.
