New Level - Riding the Choo Choo *

Post by Mark » Tue Sep 12, 2006 12:57 am

I've been reluctant to release this level for more than two months because it is a Mega-Stinker.
If you are up for the challenge, then download at your own risk. But don't say I didn't warn you.

I was riding the Image and had a lot of fun. Got the boxes needed pretty quick but spilled one in a wrong place for a long time
Finally got it all sorted and could exit with gold.
Fun and tricky ride, thanks :D

Sure is a clever one Mark Image I have worked on this for ages now - most I ever got was four boxes to use in the train - then I got smacked by one of the boxes in the butt

Think I am going to have to Image for some help please? :D Great level - love the theme! Image :D

You will need all six box-cars to assemble the Peegue express.
When placing a box on the blue button, use the small lower room in the bottom-center to turn that box around, this way you don't accidentally step on the white button.
Later on, use the two-bridge tiles in the locked room to push the box against the wall out.

Thanks Mark - but I had that part sussed already! My main problem is getting all the boxes out from the ice slide at the top left to enable me to cover all three buttons, thus enabling me to get into the gated area. I did do it a couple of times, but that was obviously not correct, because I had to smash a couple of boxes in the gate in the process  I am trying this thing where I push one box up, run to the left to push one box right, so that when the box comes back from the icy part it pushes the box down. But then I can't run quick enough to get to the right side of the boxes - so that can't be right at all! (Hope you understand what I am talking about!)

Problems here too I'm afraid. I can get five boxes into the area with the red, white and blue buttons (including the two from the locked room) but I can't clear the sixth box :? Am I missing some glitchy thing?

Thanks,

How to assemble the Peegue Express
Legend: N: North | S: South

During each step be careful not to touch the white button.
First push the N box up and step right. Push S box left, N box up, S box down two spaces and return to previous position before the N box slides back.
Push S box left, N box up, and S box down one space and return before other box slides back.
Push S box left, N box box up, S box right and all the way down against wall. Continue sliding S box right. Turn the box around in the small bottom room and slide it back up to cover the blue button.
You will now have three boxes on the left side. Slide the bottom box so that it one space above the white button. Now cover the white button with the middle box. Cover the red button with the box just above the white button. Push the top box by the ice slide one space to the left.
Now slide on the right ice path and watch Peegue penetrate the box.
Walk one space right to stand on the bridge, and then push the box in the enclosure left until it stops against the top-left box. Slide right into the enclosure again and push the other box down until it stops against the box on the blue button. Slide left on the ice path and push the right box up on the ice and then quickly push the left box right one space before the right box slides back.
Now slide the top box right into the enclosure.
Push the box above the blue button so that it is one space above the box on the white button. Now enter the enclosure from the S side, step left onto the bridge, slide up to collect the two coins and push the box down until it stops just above the box covering the blue button.
Enter the enclosure again and exit through the left side and push the top box down so that it is directly above the box on the red button.
Enter the station depot on the right side and check the train's arrival time.
The sign will assist you on your journey around the track.

Wow! Very intricate design Mark! The train was extremely cool but very hazardous! Even with your walkthrough this one took many attempts to get the train on track without having boxcars derail! Thanks for an interesting brain strain!

incredible level 8)

i was lucky enough (or unlucky enough! ) to test this, once i knew how to get the 6 boxes into play with a little help from my friend, i went into the editor and edited all 6 of them into the right place so i could practise on the choo choo train, it took me gosh knows how many attempts to get the timing right on that side of things  :D

like the maestro said, it was an absolute stinker, but you were warned!

push the right box up on the ice and then quickly push the left box right one space before the right box slides back.
For some reason that's the step that eluded me :? what a goof-ball I am. As for the rest of this pickle...I'm still working on timing it out!

For now, thanks Mark!

Went back determined to do it...and I did!!!!Woohooo!! Got killed half a dozen times on the track but I was expecting that. After a time I learned to use a little patience and didn't overreact and it fell into place, thanks again Mark!

FINALLY got some time to play and this was first on my list :D

What a simply fantastical level Mark - you have a magnificent mind to come up with these minimalistic and simplistic (did I say simplistic  ) levels! This was you at your very best!

I got to the "Oh poo" stage a couple of times and shouted out "OH POO!!!"   Finally, battered and bruised I made it through the choo choo poo poo ride and got the gold!

One word to describe this level (apart from "poo")

"BRILLIANT!" 8)

Thanks :D

PS: This was my 6,000th completed custom level - a wonderful level for the milestone :D

Lillie, this pic is hilarious. Exactly what happened to me two times solving Mark's excellent level. Of course I am too well behaved to shout such bad english words  Used some bad german words instead Kacke!

Congrats to No. 6000. You're close on my heels. Great job :D
But you are better in level making and in chatting, so it's Lillie 2 - Lutz 1

hmmm.....

I am taller than you are 2-2

Agree upon a draw?

But we thrashed Germany in the last game played - so it must be Lillie 5 - Lutzy 1

Only kidding you are a Image as we say in London - so it is a draw of course

*big sigh*
I'm so depressed, I can't even typ porprely.

So many times people told me I'm an intelligent man. And now I discover it's all been a conspiracy.
It shames me to say that until now I have not solved a single level residing in the folder called "Mark." Not one, ooh!!
I know you said this is a Mega-stinker, Mark, but for me they All are.
I feel I have no more choice in the matter: I must use your walkthrough.
Otherwise I'm not sure what will happen if I want to cross the road tomorrow and I see a bus approaching. Can't even trust myself anymore....

Mahaloof, cheer up! I know for myself it sometimes happens that someone makes outblasting level but cannot solve any others even if they are a lot easier. And even THAT is not the case with you. Mark's levels are always very hard, I couldn't do any one without a help, with an exception of Super Coily and Mind Freak.
Believe me, I had quite a long time of training before I started to make custom levels to not to be in the same situation as you are (I hardly could do any single of custom levels) Some practice blasted this final barrier for me!
DON'T GIVE UP.

Ah, Muzozavr, I'm still alive and feeling a bit better. After I understood from the walkthrough how to get the boxes out of their Matrushka position, things went fast enough.
But, of course, I also received zze box in zze butt. Und noch einmal, und....

...I did it!!!

(Apart from the walkthrough I also consulted Patrick's book "How to solve one of Mark's levels without annoying the neighbours" (28th printing), because things had just calmed down since I busied myself with the Lillie/Kiki coop project).

Anyway, spectabulous design, Mark. Thanks!

For some months, on and off, I was trying to get the timing right: all 5 box-cars in place, I thought it was just a matter of me getting to push those 5 cars at the very right moments to escape in time before the gates close.

Today I came here just to leave a little note that I'm still working on the timings, but then I saw Mark's comment that you need all 6 cars. With so much practice behind, with just the knowledge that it is even possible to get all 6 cars, the rest was completed in minutes.

Well done Mark for this Mega Stinker.
