What's the use of a texture if no levels require it?

Some people are good at making textures and create them to be used by the people who are good at making levels. Just gives us more options. :)

They are very small in size, so take up almost no room on your computer. When several people make levels using those textures, they can reference that folder, so the textures show up properly. If you don't have a texture, the game will go to default textures. If you download a custom game that uses a texture, it will just recopy those same textures onto your computer.

So all in all, just as easy to grab the textures when they're available. :)
