WSW Rainbow Stars to Rescue Stinkers

I am at my wits end with trying to get to the Stinkers to rescue them. I've gone through all of the levels, escaped from the void and all but when I try to get to the Stinkers, game tells me I need 8 rainbow stars to get there, I only have seven. Where do I get the eighth? I think I've discovered all of the secret worlds, I even went back to replay a few but got nothing except a better rating for that level. Please help me with this. I hope I'm not the only one still playing this game.
