Stinkersquad01 made a chomper texture he knew was bad, mainly so he could parody the recolorings and filters which are easy to slap together. Wonderman thought he was being serious and then proceeded to talk about himself. Then everyone got fed up with Wonderman again.

I don't see why it's a joke, because the chomper IS awesome. I frankly couldn't care less about the satire, because this argument over what's considered art is a little spammy AND immature.

It does matter that you work hard on your textures if you are going to be proud about them, but what's most important about any texture is that it actually looks good in-game.

I was not 'fed up' with the texture. I thought it looked a bit odd at first but now I see that it is quite a well-done work of art. I was fed up wiith how overly serious people made this argument and how they had to go ahead and start making jokes about it afterwards, which is a little ironical.

What I wanted to prove with my texture is that even mediocre or bad texture makers like me who use 'lousy' programs or recolour their work sometimes can still make things by hand if they want to or feel pressured to, even if theirs not that good as people who really spend a lot of time on their work.

Are you sure you're in a good position to make that judgement?

Erm...no ...but I still have the right to think what I wish, right?... True, just recolouring or filtering a texture definitely doesn't make it art, especially when compared to people like Ab-47 who really work hard on their textures, but complaining or making a satire of it doesn't make it much better. Also, like I said, I REALLY like SS01's texture, so it being a satire I fail to see...

I 'accept the challenge' to make something by hand too because I need to start putting more effort into my work anyways and this is a good thing to practice I prefer making spikeyballs, coins, and fireflowers over chompers, but if someone wants me to do something particular, I'm more than happy to. Expect me to have some textures for everyone ready some time tomorrow, it's getting late for me.

Anyways, I've finished a very measly example of my efforts without using recolouring, noise defining, solid shapes, or anything like that.

I did mine very quickly and without planning how it should look.

I would also point you to your random advertisements in MyNameIsKooky's custom adventure topic "Corrupted Folder"; those had even less to do with the intended topic than these.

This is false. There was quite a bit of frustration happening on the chatbox, and this certainly isn't the first time your rude actions have attracted such attention.

It didn't seem like a joke at all. It seemed like you were angry at us without reason and were rudely calling us out. Facepalms are not funny.

Somehow I find they seem like a way of expressing or appreciating a joke...I wasn't angry...I thought everyone would think I was agreeing about the laugh. Until I joined this forum, I never knew what a facepalm was and neither did anyone I know. At all. So I thought they were used for positive responses more than negative ones...

let's just stop and talk about what this topic really is about - the texture SS01 made.

SS01 made the topic for the express purpose of making a satire of the cheap recolorings and filters out there; the texture was just a means to convey that satire.

I feel offended because I still put lots of time into my work even if the final product isn't always very good...I understand your point but I have to disagree. In one way, I don't get this satire's pun and I feel hurt in another...

Am I appearing rude in this post? Probably. It's just that your behavior has been attracting large frustration from most of the users here for a while and I had to say something.

I have a bad habit of not caring how much effort is put into my work or into anyone else's. What matters to me is if it looks good in-game...because the texture is basically pointless and useless entirely if it looks horrible, right? I care more about the levels made here than the custom stuff added to enhance them. Is that bad? I think it's okay because these subforums were made for making, sharing, and discussing adventures, right?

You tried to make an example of that horrible sort of texture and while it worked for everyone else, somehow , I found it had the opposite of what it intended.



If people refuse to play my levels because I use your texture in it, then may they be happy.
