Why the Editor Doesn't Support MOFI Models

Post by MyNameIsKooky » Fri Dec 24, 2010 8:01 pm

This may or may not be old news ('cause of cbloopy's hacked editor), but...

I've been digging around in the Editor.exe with good old XVI32, and I noticed something. If you look up something like "scritter" or "chomper" in there, you'll come up with results, but if you look for "tentacle" or "crab" what do you find? NOTHING. NOOOOTTTHHHHIIIIIINNNNNNGGGGGGG. D:<

You see, the reason why the editor blows up when it tries to load MOFI is because it doesn't know where to look for the models. In the Editor.exe, directories are included to the models. We COULD add the paths to the MOFI models, but then the exe file would explode upon being opened because we changed the amount of characters.

I don't know how cbloopy managed to compile his hacked editor thing, but this could be a way to insert things like tentacles directly in. No conversion included WHATSOEVEERR.

So, uh, does anyone know how to stop the thing from exploding?
