Well, I think the Data1 part of Fireflowers is the magic number, So...
You can use the Pop magic number, 2, to make a flower that can push buttons! This leads to some puzzle ideas. :3

then again this might not even work

That doesn't work because Pop works by shooting aimed at a button's coordinates, but flowers have no aim, just a linear direction, and so their shots don't stop to interact with buttons like player pop.
That would be neat though.

When the PotZ editor arrives, you could use magic shooters rigged to a timer, because they use coordinates to aim, that might work.

Well, you can use a fireflower statue and hide inside it a magic shooter. and hide a spikeyball that triggers the magic shooter. Put in the speed you like. By this you get an Aiming Flower!

But, you will not have the animation.
