I recently started a new world to maybe start playing this again, and got killed by Skeletons a bunch, realizing that they were basically the hardest mob to deal with outside of the Nether since Endermen will ignore you if ignored and are far less common. This brought to mind an idea me and SS01 had on the chat ages ago:
The Skeleton Kingdom, containing only Skeletons, Spider Jockeys, and the Skeleton King as mobs. Composed of large stone structures and pathways with grass in between and a Nether Portal in the center. Corresponding portal will spawn in the Wither Skeleton Kingdom, a Netherised version of the Skeleton Kingdom that contains only Wither Skeletons and is fairly blocked off from the rest of the Nether.

Maybe it could be made out of the new quartz blocks or something, and use skeleton heads for puzzles.

Also, maybe some traps that, when activated, activate rapid pulsars connected to dispensers with skeleton spawn eggs that are next to walls.
Not too many spawn eggs, though. Don't wanna lag the crap out of people and don't wanna have a motherload of spawn eggs if you don't activate the trap.

You could have the dispensers be somewhat hidden in the ceiling and they can land in water.

They sure do. And knockback only works for melee weapons, I believe.

If you're going to whack people with it, then yes. Bows use Punch.
