ORIGINAL POST:
STORY: It's been two years since the defeat of the Evil Toaster, who is currently stuck under a large boulder. Roaster has become largely passive after being held captive by the apples for so long. The Apple is soon scheduled to finally begin decomposing.
Shaman has been doing heavy research and he's found out that to stop the decomposition of the Apples, they need Volvic Revive. Unfortunately, Volvic Revive is only sold by Mr. Volcano who is in a completely different video game. However, Shaman has also found out that the Green Apples have special worms inside them that can power a strange wormhole that can take you between video games. Shaman builds the Worminator as a way to go between different video games.
Shaman tells the Apple about his new quest to find the Volvic Revive.
Little can go wrong, right? When the Apple tries to use the machine, it begins to malfunction and creates several wormholes that suck all the Green Apples in and take them to all sorts of different video games. Roaster and Shaman get wisped away as well. All but one of the wormholes close - only the Apple is left. The Apple and the Worminator then get sucked into the wormhole.
Since there are no more Green Apples left nearby to power the Wormholes, the Apple doesn't actually end up in any video game at all. Instead, he ends up in Nowhere. Without anymore Green Apples, the Worminator can't function, thus the Apple can't go back home. Perhaps there might be some of the Green Apples in Nowhere...
GAMEPLAY: After escaping from Nowhere (which will be the tutorial level), the Apple must go between different video games and save the Green Apples that are there. The Green Apples will power the Worminator, thus unlocking more levels and maybe more games. The games will include Boxinator, Deja Vu, Wefight (where Mr. Volcano is), and maybe even my SEKRIT THINGY. Each level will have it's own mini-plot which will usually involve conflicts between the Apple and the main characters of the game.
Yeah, it'll be awesome.
If you want me to include your game(s) too, tell me. But it must be a platformer game and you have to be the one who made it!

Sounds amazing!
If you could include Wonderland Platformer, that would be great.

I can't really imagine Stinky/Loof/Qookie/Peegue acting evil towards the Apple, though...?

In the storyline magic is going overpowered so you could have pow chasing the apple or something, and have the gang as allys?

Then there'd be no major antagonists for that game. And one game doesn't have one storyline, it has a different 'story' for each level.
Uhhhmmmm... I dunno.

Yeah. The only "antagonist" so far besides the giant fireflower, wich has nothing to to with the plot(wich will change) is Blast island, but it's a place.
If you can't put it in, I don't mind.

I'd DEFINITELY recommend Purple, only I've barely started and you'll probably start designing this first. So I guess go with Deeman's AoDD suggestion or something.

Can you include my Super Kiyoshi Bros game?

Box Walk is a bit of a rip-off of Boxinator and Doublestick is too short.
DEEMAN223344 wrote:AoDD, CD2, and CD1, Please.
I'll just do AoDD since that has Clayman in it as well.
Nobody wrote:I'd DEFINITELY recommend Purple, only I've barely started ...
I'm not going to be taking close-to-nonexistant games, like you said.
Technos72 wrote:Can you include my Super Kiyoshi Bros game?
I'll consider it. It's going to be hard since it's going to be REALLY SMB-like, but I'll see what I can do.
GAMES:
1. Deja Vu
2. Boxinator
3. AoDD
4. Wefight
5. Super Kiyoshi Bros
6. SEKRIT THINGY

If you take my suggestions, The apple will actually appear in the games as well as each of the characters following you to Wefight, as they appear in the actual forum game.
Mini-Story for each:
BOB - The apple finds one of loof's hands which it uses to conveniently save apples from farther away, but BOB needs the hand to stop loof's Post-Explosion soul from destroying the universe.
AoDD - The robot army has a Apple-Shaped Robotic toaster that keeps attacking Dancing Duck for some reason, and DD keeps mistaking the two apples, until the end of the game, where DD follows the Apple to Wefight.
CD1 - Claydude is still trained to kill everything in sight, and has the Green Apples held hostage. OH NO.
CD2 - Claydude not only remembers The Apple, but the Green Apples have become sour and are causing mischief everywhere. The fact that The Apple is saving them leads to a huge misunderstanding.

Umm... I dunno. I don't think I'll be able to come up with anything that's not similar to what will be in the Deja Vu and Boxinator worlds.

Wait, can you add We Brawl?

can you add a few non-platformer parts in it? there's so many gm platformers they're getting kinda boring (no offense)... that's why evil toaster 1 was my favorite et game D:

GM PLATFORMERS ARE BORING???
Well, that's a shame. Purple is (will be) a platformer, as is (will) Shopping-The Game. The Perfect Game is (will be) a Click'n'Move style game, but my idea to make it more unique and less of a CnM rip-off was... a power-up which turns certain parts of the game into a platformer.
This stinks.

I don't find them boring, but there's just so many of them i've played they're not interesting to me anymore.

Hmm, maybe. I haven't tried it yet, so I'll report back when I do.

Platformers are my favorite genre...
I don't know much about how to make anything legitly
fun that's not a platformer.

Hmmmm... maybe I should add that one game I gave up on a couple years (?) ago to my to-do list (A random pac-man game where... a robot visits various planets in search of fuel when it's ship crashes? I sorta forget.).

Perhaps a minigame thing or something, I suppose.

Production time =/= awesomeness. You could spend a year making a terrible game and it would still be terrible.
~xpr'd wrote:maybe you could add some areas that are like that?

Maybe there could be a seperate game for non-platformer levels? Click Da Fruut, for instance.
Level 1-The Mouse Cursor thinks that the Green Apples are a new fruut type and tries to destroy them by clicking on them. Since the red apple looks exactly like the apples in Click Da Fruut, the Mouse Cursor tries to destroy it, too.
Level 2-The red apple discovers the Bombs from the game, and must stop them before the Green Apples are placed in serious danger. Or... something.
Level 3-The Fruuts argue about which variety is best and a war begins. The Green Apples and the red apple are recruited into the Apple Army and must either fight to the death or find a peaceful end to the war.

I was thinking along the lines of a retro-ish Evil Toaster 1 clone thingy where you have to play an Evil Toaster 1-like thing using an in-game computer to unlock doors or something.

A game about unlocking doors? IT BETTER NOT BE POORLY DESIGNED.

No. A game about fighting a virtual toaster, Evil Toaster 1 style. It unlocks a door in the level you're in when it's completed. Or something like that.
