New Game - Kiyoshi Revamped

Using my GM knowledge I've arranged the events so that you get the controls from Ball Revamped. It's kinda bad, but I guess it's okay.

Anyway I'm trying to make a Ball Revamped fangame using my anime character and some other animes I didn't make that you may know about. I won't tell you who the other anime characters are unless you play the game in the future. And this game will contain...

- 400+ levels in 40+ worlds
- 4 bosses
- load and save file
- level select
- achievements

Wow almost five hours without any off-topic stuff :shock:

Anyway I forgot to say that I'm also working on WA: The Magical Tests so process of this game may either be slow or I will stop at some points when I'm addicted to something.

Im currently done level designing for World 1. I'll stop and launch Demo 1 at Either level 50 or at the first boss depending on the speed of process.

Version 0.25 levels done - 10%

Oh man. I feel stressed because I gave a description of a new GM project, showed a screenshot, and there have been no replies over the past 9 hours. If this keeps up I'll not continue the process of the game and work on something else until further notice. Because I see this isn't getting anywhere.

So far I've made 20 levels. I'm also planning to make the worlds real diverse to make the game interesting. WIth process now I'll be finished between 2 days and next week.

Yeah the levels in the Ball Revamped series (especially BR 2-5) are supposed to be really short.

Im now done 32 levels. xprd is gonna make a logo for this game just like for WA: The Magical Tests. And I have a list of what needs to be done for Demo 1. Incomplete is in red, in progress is blue, and complete is green

- 100 levels. 50 if bad progress
- first boss
- custom level transition
- menu
- Save file
- information for levels, deaths, etc.

All I have to say about this game is that it looks highly professional. Very good work there, especially the first screenshot.

Over the past 5 1/2 hours of my free time for I made 25 more levels. Now there's 70 levels. I'm also going to put up a bar showing the percentage of levels for demo 1. Like this.

Today Is a snow day for me and I haven't seen my bus come to pick me up for an hour and twenty minutes. If the bus was cancelled instead of being crazy late, that gives me plenty of more time to work on this. Today it's possible for all levels to be finished and to move to the first boss.

I was done all 100 levels for Demo 1 a few hours ago. I've also finished the introduction of the first boss. It's the exact same introduction in Ball Revamped 2 and Ball Revamped 3 Andromeda. But the boss itself is going to take a while.

Things done and not

- Save file
- information for levels, deaths, etc.

How about a Level Editor? :D

List of things you could add,
  • The Level Creator
    Tile maker. (Custom tiles/textures like WAE)
    Dialog editor (If there is any dialogs in the game.)
And to be able to play them, the level editor should have something to make them playable within the main game. (A "CustomLevels" Selection is available at main menu)
But it should be unlocked by something.
How about trying super secret features like RTW?

Put it in a hard to reach place in a hard level. and make it in a secret area that needs alot of work to get in to.
It will have a password.
When typed at the main menu you'll hear a chime play.

If the chime is sounded, a Custom Levels selection appears along with a selection named "Level Editor"
Inside it contains,
Level Creator (Should have all original game textures along with the ability to load custom ones)

I really hope you add this, i bet if alot of people liked Kiyoshi Revamped so much they want to make custom levels!
It'd be at least ok to just make a BETA Level editor.

But i really think you should make them earn the editor.

Well the way I designed the levels its going to be impossible with the actual level's backgrounds and wall designs. So I have to make one or multiple custom walls and backgrounds suitable for level editing. Like same 16x16 tiles on the walls. That should work out. But I don't think a code will be nesicary.

Which reminds me, I forgot to say that there will be refrences of all BR games in this one. For example

- BR1: Power ups at least
- BR2: Boss introduction, fake warps, fans, etc
- BR3 Andromeda: Same stuff than BR2
- BR3 Gemini: Star powerups in different colours
- BR4: Bringing back most powerups from that game
- BR5: Cool designed levels (curves, etc. for walls) and the level editor Lexie was mentioning
- BR6: Same worlds than that game (note: BR6 was not made by the same guy)
- Mostly every game: Music, other versions of some worlds, sounds, sprites.

The difficulty for the rest of the features are in between the difficulty of the ones completed now. It's going to take a few hours for both. But I'm busy for most of tomorrow. I'm talking a hike in the woods somewhere and later I'm going to a family get-together. I only have an estimated 3-6 hours to work on this for tomorrow. If I don't have all of Demo 1 done by tonight, I'll upload what I've done so far.

Now let's see if I can finish demo 1 within a few hours. On nights that are not school ones I'm free to sleep whenever I want. So If progress goes great, I'll go to bed when this is finished and uploaded.

Yeah that's right.

About the game, I going to leave the transition thing out because it's going to take too long. So I just gotta do several more tweaks on the game to finish and upload demo 1 like...
