Lost Data

Evil Toaster 3 is finally coming to a close, so I thought "heck, why not post my SEKRIT THINGY?"
STORY: The game, Lost Data, takes place in a future time where technology is highly sophisticated. The latest robots, called "Retrievers," are small anthropomorphic robots with lightbulbs as heads. Their purpose is to collect "Data Cells" that may be floating in the air (hence the name Retrievers). Data Cells are new atoms that have been recently invented to help recover any lost data - when data from any latest technology gets purged or deleted, it gets rejected into the air in the form of Data Cells.
The main character, a Retriever named Alan, wakes up for the first time and finds himself inside of a space station with twelve other Retrievers who have crowded around the pipe from which he arrived (which he went through while he was still in sleep mode). Alan has the knowledge of how lots of things work, but he doesn't remember anything. It's similar for the other Retrievers.
Spuds, the oldest of the Retrievers, explains to Alan that every once in a while a new Retriever arrives through the pipe like Alan just did. All of the Retrievers have been trapped in this space station for a while with no way out and no explanation of why or how they got to this space station. However, they are all sure of one thing. They must escape to planet Earth.
The space station has one room, which has four warp pads in the middle of it. There is a terminal that adjusts the destinations of these warp pads for each individual Retriever.
The destinations available each lead to a certain planet within a system of other planets. These planets all have identical terrain layout, but different terrain (like grass, swamp, etc.). The four warp pads each lead to a different place on the currently selected planet. Each planet has an abundance of Data Cells. By collecting enough of these, a Retriever can unlock destinations to more planets.
The strongest of the Retrievers have unlocked eight planets, but have yet to find a way to escape. Spuds has a theory that if they progress through all the planets, they'll have a way to get home. Alan is determined to be a help to the cause and begins his adventure.
However, it's not all easy. Each planet is riddled with many dangers. Even the space station itself can be dangerous...
CHARACTERS: Here are the characters, listed from earliest arrival to the space station to latest arrival.
1. Spuds: The first Retriever to arrive in the space station. He knows a lot about it.
2. Doffy: This Retriever is obsessed with running a gameshow, thus he wears a purple gameshow vest thing and carries a microphone everywhere he goes. He's a close friend of Spuds and has an outgoing personality, announcing everyone's victories.
3. Annoying Guy: A Retriever who could be annoying, but he's actually just trying to be caring. He will block your way into the fourth warp pad to a planet unless you've gotten all the gems on the planet (see gameplay).
4. Sludge: This Retriever was created 2x the normal Retriever size for some reason, thus he is very strong.
5. Seshru: A female Retriever with a cocky attitude.
6. Metalhead: He's loyal to Sludge. No one knows his real name, but he always calls himself Metalhead.
7. Digits: He's a pretty nice guy who's pretty excited on getting the heck out of the space station.
8. Otto: Some random Retriever who had supposedly gotten frozen on the Ice Planet. He somehow found a gun that he carried everywhere and blasted his rivals.
9 & 10. Ri & Ro: Two twin Retrievers that are always fighting and beating each other up over little things.
11. Ø: No one can really pronounce his name, so everyone just calls him "You."
12. Tic: He loves running recklessly through the planets at sixty miles per hour. He can provide lots of useful tips and items for Alan... for a price, of course.
13. X: The greatest hero of all time!... Or so he says...
14. Alan: THE MAIN CHARACTER!
15+. Haven't arrived in the space station yet (as of the start of the game).
GAMEPLAY: There are going to be four levels on each planet. The fourth level is a bonus level which will usually involve running from something dangerous. The other three levels should be completed to progress through the game. I originally intended there to be ten levels per planet, but I figured that would drag things out for too long.
On every level, there is a gem you can collect. To get the gem, you must collect every single Data Cell in the level. Gems will probably be necessary to progress through the game (I haven't really decided yet).
The space station is going to be the hub area where you can talk to everyone and buy stuff.
Data Cells can be found in abundance in each level. They can be found floating around or you'll have to break some sort of package to get them.
Data Cells come in three values and can appear as Hexadecimal numbers. Collecting Data Cells gives you Bits. Bits will be the currency for buying stuff.
Bit: 1 Bit
Nibble: 4 Bits
Word: 16 Bits
The levels will be quite linear, but quite fun. It will also be more fun to design than Evil Toaster.
So... yeah.
If you want to see what a Retriever looks like, there will be a picture around... somewhere...
