The Wonderland Board

Apparently I saw what kyuu said about this in the music topic. This series came back and was liked by many internet users especially me as you can tell by my rainbow dash avatar. I just got into watching MLP FIM this week and I've discovered what a stress reliever it is. As you saw in my avatar, I set up this project PONY which is not really a project but I did it anyway and theres nothing you can do about it.

I'll watch some more episodes this weekend once WA: TMT demo 2 clears off.

I approve of this thread.

Having said that, there is quite a huge fanbase on the internet (a lot of members are male, too; enough that the term "brony" was coined for male fans of it) - despite being a show meant for young girls, it's garnered a lot of attention for multiple reasons:

1) It isn't overly sweet for a kids' show. Yeah, it has quite a lot of pink and hearts and the like, but that was due to a corporate decision. The creator (Lauren Faust, the wife of the guy who made Powerpuff Girls and Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends) intended for it to be watchable by anyone.

2) It doesn't treat kids like they're mentally incapable. The characters rarely state the obvious, other than some of the end-episode-moral stuff.

3) The humor is mostly genuine, instead of being "lolsorandumb" all the time. While there's nothing wrong with that, it often gets old quickly.

4) The characters have genuine personalities, instead of all being cookie-cutter characters (so to speak). In fact, the protagonist in the first two episodes (Twilight Sparkle) doesn't approve of friendship either (you can tell by the expression on her face whenever anypony else mentions being friends).

5) There's genuine character development - As mentioned above, Twilight's a bit of a loner, but by the end of Episode 2, she's above that. There are some other instances between other characters as well.

6) The colors aren't overly bright or dingy. Of course, the environment is bright and colorful, but not to the point that it'd hurt ones' eyes.

7) I don't care what anyone else thinks, this is one of the most adorable things ever when it wants to be. Proof: Fluttershy.

Hey how many episodes are there right now? I don't remember the answer my friend at school said but are there 20-30 episodes?

Season 1 is going to have 26 by the time it's over, and Season 2 will have 24.

21 episodes have aired so far, IIRC.

lol, but actually i watched a part when pinkie pie or whoever that pony is sing a song about not being afraid, it wasnt that bad. the giggling in it was girly, but if all chanels on tv had it on for a whole day, i would still watch the tv maybe. i dont watch tv often so yeah. sorry about no caps im using my dsi so its easier for no caps.

Pinkie tends to burst into song very often, yeah. IMO that's probably the closest the show gets to being overly sweet.

So far I've seen the episodes Over a Barrel, Dragonshy, and that episode where pinkie pie twitches and random things happen. Don't know what that's called. I want to keep track of all the episodes I've seen for season 1 but I don't know all the episode names. Can somebody make me a list?

I was thinking of putting up some "Pony Fortress" thing where MLP:FiM and TF2 combine. Maybe I can make a picture with the characers in TF2 suits once I arrange them in classes by similar name and character type. Here are the name combinations I have now

Rainbow Scout - I actually found this in a video called "meet the rainbow scout". I just can't think of anything other than that
Heavy Sparkle - Because Heavy is the most popular one for his funny quotes and his sandvich (if that's wrong I'll just say he was in the center of this picture) and twilight is the protagonist of the show

I know I saw an actual character model that replaced the Engineer with Applejack, something about the model seemed off though.

Well, both Rainbow Dash and the Scout are pretty egotistical when they want to be, and Dash is incredibly fast (re: Episode 16).

She wouldn't really be out of character here either, almost everyone in TF2 could be referenced as being "a bit off in the head".

I just saw the engineer apple jack thing before seeing this post. I've always wanted to replace source models with other ones but I don't know how.

I agree Episode 1 and 2 aren't very good, but I started with Episode 16 and now I'm actually kinda into it. I don't know why. Now I'm getting mad because I can't turn into a pegasus.
