My first Game Maker Game: Opposite Day

Lately at school, I've started an elective about Game Making, I was going to make a game I mentioned about a month and a half ago, but then I got a completely new idea! I call it 'Opposite Day'
In the game you play as a villian (not a hero), who's venturing through various worlds to capture a princess (instead of saving one)
I started this game on Tuesday at my school and have already
-Designed the character
-Made the first 5 levels
-Made the enemies of the first and second worlds
-Figured out the scoring system
-Made the menu, credits, and help screens
-Done the backgrounds and platforms for the first 2 worlds
-Set it to 5 lives
Each world has 4 levels and I may add power-ups as I go
BTW, You gain 100 points when you lose a life, but I'm trying to figure out how to make the lives consistent(eg. If you end a level with 2 lives I want to have those 2 lives carried on to the next level, not reset to 5 lives)
Here are some screenshots of the menu and first 2 levels
I appreciate any feedback!
