For anyone who doesn't know about it, here's the link to
'Dumb Ways to Die' and another to its best spoof,
Cool Things to Find.
Small warning, though:
Warning Spoiler wrote: The original has some gory cartoon violence with cute jelly-bean people, a lot of odd comments, and a guarantee label to get stuck in your head.
Another Spoiler wrote: The video's supposed to be an ad for train safety, but you won't realize it until near the end.

My whole class was singing and acting it out on Friday during Homeroom class. Even our homeroom teacher.
Imagine this in real life. EWW.

(No, our class didn't use props, thank goodness.)

The whole idea of the video circles around a dark topic, and the reason it's catchy is because it's funny and cartoon-y, so dark humour has to come into play and even a very friendly cartoon will have to have some cartoon 'gore' when it follows a script-line like this one.
I read some articles by people who reject the idea, saying it will be ineffective at reaching its prime goal - actually stopping train accidents, among other kinds.
But I think it works, because if you get used to the tune and the overall image, it snaps in your mind whenever you're at a train platform, in a pet shop, or in your kitchen in the morning. After all, what non-suicidal person would want to join those unfortunate singing jelly-beans, as inviting as it may seem? ...I didn't think so.
Some people also find the fact that the meme is a clever ad to be an off-putter for the whole joke, but I say that's a silly attitude - the end message is the smiling moral of the story, and it was the part that actually cracked me up seriously. (Irony!)
I guess I'm a bit obsessed with this song, but I can't help it.
I've considered making a parody of it in WAE, but it would likely violate the forum graphic rules even though Wonderland is essentially a cartoon itself and making the graphics would be a nightmare on Earth. Anyone still think I should make the spoof?
