New Adventure: Mushroom Farm

Post by ALEXALEX976 » Sun Jun 05, 2016 5:32 pm

Hello, my name is Alex and I 'm a wonderland fan for more than 8 years! This the first adventure (and the first message) I post to this forum, it's not a puzzle adventure but its a demo for a mechanism that allows the player to plant, crop and sell mushrooms for coins.

To play this adventure you also need my custom icon set "mushfarm".

Have fun! :)

First of all, welcome to the forums! I hope you'll enjoy your time here. :D
Secondly... This is very awesome and creative! It's entertaining to watch the mushrooms grow. You are great for making this.

Very neat concept, thanks! Just one thing I noticed: not really a big deal, but you can walk through the canopy - placing it doesn't automatically make the tiles walls. Other than that, it's a pretty cool adventure. :)

Welcome to the forums Alex X 2! I can't wait to try this mechanism out.

EDIT: Mushrooms grow with seeds in Wonderland. This is big for science.

Just asking, but how do you do a dialogue where the player is given coins? Is it a FNC?

If you mean directly giving coins; I can't help you.

If you mean you want them to spawn on the ground, that's easy.

Example:

Give a coin an ID of one. Make it deactivated and place it wherever you want. Then go into the dialogue and make the CMD be 1 and the ID be one. When you click that answer, it will activate the coin so you can pick it up when the dialogue is finished!

I knew about the CMD 1 thing. That’s essentially how any item gets spawned. I was just thinking there was a FNC that allowed the player to directly receive a certain number of coins like if you did something specific without having to use up space.

There is, but I don't remember what it is or how to do it. I'll look into it tomorrow.

I think I remember how to do this.

Make a dialogue with an FNC of 4, I think. 4 is coins and 5 is items, IIRC. if you want to be given coins instead, make the data number a NEGATIVE number instead of a positive number. You will be given the number of coins that relates to the negative integer. This can be useful for shops if you want to sell items!

That is indeed correct.

Since I don't remember, I'll let you take over.
