He's likely getting ready for school.

The Nova Scotian kids go back this Thursday (poor things) so I don't know if all schools are doing that. I though everyone went back the Tuesday after Labour Day, but I heard today that because our kids lost so much time this year with a hurricane that shut the schools down for nearly 10 days in some places, and then the big snow storm that shut them down again for another 5 days, the school board has decided to bring them back earlier and keep them later during Christmas and Summer holidays. Glad I'm not in school anymore...shudder.

There you are Kiddo! We missed you around here. Glad to see you back. :D

So, what grade are you in? Are they stocking you up with lots of homework?

My step-daughter has just started grade two, and already they loaded her up with math and reading homework, much to her disgust. She's decided that she doesn't like school anymore because she has to spend 2 hours every day doing homework after supper, and then she's only got a hour to watch tv and go to bed. Poor thing is in for a loooooong school year.

She's in French immersion, so they give them English reading to do for homework, on top of the French reading she has to do. For the summer, her grade one teacher gave the kids a list of English books they had to read to prepare them for September. Everyone else received a list for 2nd level, she and one other girl got level 3. Her teacher told Kathleen's mother that she could very well be multi-lingual, and that she should consider signing her up for a new language course every year.
