Think of a four-digit whole number, ABCD (as in, 1000A+100B+10C+D), where there is no repetition of digits.
When a player guesses any four-digit number, the result will be shown as "?V ?X" (Tick and cross
). V stands for a digit that is guessed correctly and in the correct position, while X stands for a digit that is guessed correctly, but in the wrong position.
In each round, the player will guess the number, and will be given the result "?V ?X". The answer will be revealed if the player has not managed to guess the number correctly after eight rounds.
Feel free to play around.
