MY NETWORK SERVER PING IS DEAD! Long story
MY NETWORK SERVER PING IS DEAD! Long story
For those of you who don't know what "ping" is, It's the speed of a network server (a server in team fortress 2, gmod, etc). The lower the ping, the more laggy the server is. "dead ping" means people won't connect to your server. It's known as a ??? or 0 or --- I have this dead ping and people won't come to my servers! Here's the story...
I was playing Blockland with some people on MY server and it was working perfectly (I will not tolerate with blockland vs roblox any longer). You were supposed to port forward to create a server or use dedicated server. I can't port forward because the login thing for me is stupid. So I run dedicated. At a new version of Blockland it said port forwarding was no longer nessicary. So I didn't need dedicated to run server.
A few months later my dad installed an excellent working internet security. Later I tried blockland, ran my server, then THAT'S when my ping started to become dead. Since port forwarding is no longer needed for a server, Dedicated isn't working also! I investigated.
On the weekend with free team fortress 2 on steam, I was going to create my own server but ping was dead also! Now I knew that it's not just blockland with the dead ping. When I create a server on ANY ONLINE GAME the ping will be always dead.
I think it's my internet security that's causing the dead ping. I was looking around it to find the problem. But I can't find it. Maybe you know what's going on. HELP ME!

As with what tyteen said, if your going to have something port forwarded, your going to have to allow that service through Windows Firewall too. If nothing came up saying "-Name of service here- Block | Unblock" when you tried running the service, then you'll just have to find the port and not only allow it though your router, but allow it through the firewall too. Plus, if you get a new router, your going to have to do it again if you did it before you got a new one. I guess this would apply to your new security.
