Vote for a Wonderland Convention

Post by peanut522 »

In seeing all that really goes on in the Wonderland Community and how many trully devoted fans there really are ,I thought it would be a good idea to start a Wonderland Convention . This would give everyone a chance to come and meet each other, have contests and possible prizes,
converse about the games and have fun!!!

On a flip side to all this it would also be a great Advertising,Marketing and
Publicity stradegy For Patrick and the Wonderland Team.

SO HOW ABOUT....WHAT DOES EVERYBODY THINK???

And who would host this convention and where would you propose everyone meet ???
Remember there are people from all over the world tht play this game think of the expense for travel, hotels etc...

But on the other hand if Patrick is willing to provide lodging & transportation to his place, just name the date and time I'll be there :D

yes laura we are already aware of that ,however if you are a trully devoted and loyal fan , I am certain you would make an attempt to attend.
I have already posed this to patrick via email to see what the "wonderland team's" thought were on the subject. I figure we could hold something in the NY,NJ area and then perhaps 5 to 7 other points across the nation. If the first is sucessful in the states, perhaps there could be others geared to other countries. This could also be a catalyst to populate Wonderland merchandise tee's, dolls, figurines etc... if you go back and look at some other posts in this forum you will see there are all walks of life that are wonderland crazed from kids and adults to entire families. I am confident if they knew something like this was going to be in their area, they would love to attend and have an absolute blast doing so...

Peanut I'm well aware of the diversity of people addicted to Wonderland  I'm also aware there have been two previous "Wonderland Conventions" in the past, neither were sponsored by Midnight Syenergy. But both were quite fun from the stories I've heard.

I think your idea/dream sounds like fun see what you can come up with and hopefully it'll work out for you. If your planning on hosting it at your home, be prepared for the masses to arrive. Image

Two? Oh boy, I'm out of the loop - I only knew of one. :D

PeanutDad - it's a lovely idea, but I don't think an official conference is feasible. You might have more luck checking if there are other players local or semi-local to you and organizing a smaller user get-together (such as the one in Ireland in 2005).

WHAT ME WORRY

Post by jobec5 »

I vote for having a convention in Florida. 8) 8) 8)

As an incentive, it could be scheduled in January or February when everyone would love to get out of their colder climes. Besides there are plenty of convention sites down here. Pretty sure that the ones in the Tampa Bay area cost less than the Orlando area.

I personally have worked a few conventions and could actually check the hotel where these "cons" were held. They give group rates for conventioneers who book ahead of time. (A block of rooms is set aside for this specific purpose) And beside that--my house can hold up to 4 couples or 3 couples and a group of kids. (I am serious here folks!) :D

Sincerely,
Becky

Jobec5, Glad to see that there are some true dedicated wonderlanders out there. And if thats where it would have to be, then I guess my wife and I would be willing to fly down in order to give my little wonderlander something special. If you trully are serious then we would need to focus on the eastcoasters first and then just over all, start a post to stir interest.if you wish to you can contact us directly at marksaphire@optonline.com . I would be more than willing to work with
together with you to make this a reality. I have some excellet ideas for the theme, right down some costume wonderland characters, level contests, map signs to follow to the place as well some companies we can contact for sponsership,Since ....well, we will just leave that one alone for now.
