WA Editor v0.96 Update

Post by Midnight Synergy » Sat Mar 15, 2008 2:32 am

Hi folks,

a small update on the WA Editor (actually, the updates are all for the player).

* Bug Fixes: the leftover item bug, talk/zoom bug, and the glove load bug from the original WA
* New Feature: files placed in the downloads inbox are now checked with already existing files. Now an adventure is only overwritten if the file in your inbox is different from the existing file. This was important to be compatible with Mette's (future?) archive of zipped levels. Without the check, each time you'd download a zip of all custom levels you would replace all your old adventures and lose your scores. This now no longer happens.
* New Feature: to help you organize custom levels in the player, you can now place your levels into a number of different "archive folders". E.g. you can make a "completed" archive, or a "try later" archive, and move adventures about.

Exisiting v0.95 users can update their version by unzipping the attached file into their WAEditor directory - overwrite the two files, and off you go.

Cheers!

The editor still can't handle having lots of levels on the level menu.

Duncan, I know you're upset but could you remove some/most of those 'o's in your very long 'no'?
I'm having to scroll miles across the screen to read everything and get to the download button.
Thank you.

tyteen:
probably still going to get MAVs - with the editor there's just too many combinations to check to get rid of all possible MAVs (although, I'll say, I hardly get any?!?!?)

I've edited your post to keep the thread readable

dlcs18:
The "red" magic will likely be taken out in future updates, especially if there is an "official" magic spell for the remaining colours in game sequels.

I have something to say about my last post.

I've worked out how the archives work, and I love it! :D (the player is also less jittery.)

How do you get the levels to go into archives? I have been trying, but it either doesn't work or results in MAV.

I can't figure it out!

EDIT: Done it.

You must create a archive folder first. Keep reading if you want to know how to do it. Skip this paragraph if you've already done it. -- Click on a level you want to archive to a different place, click archive, type in a name for the folder you want it to be in, and hit enter. I don't know if it goes into it automaticly after you hit enter. Go to the next paragraph to see how to place them into folders.

To place them into folders, click on a level, click archive, then click on a folder you want it to go in. If you want to create a new folder, look at the paragraph above.

I don't think you can create folders in folders.

To go to the folders, look where it says "show all", click on it and it will cycle through your folders along with "show all", and "not archived" (I think).

I hope this helps! :D If you still can't get it to work, I would suggest you ask Patrick.
