MOFI - Gems on ice.

I have tried and tried to figure this one out. I have it drawn on graph paper so I can plot my route, and I had it all worked out, except that in reality it didn't work because I would have had to place several grows at once and I couldn't reach the spots with my cursor - one time because it was behind the bag icon in the top right of the screen and when I clicked, even with a charged glove, it opened my bag instead.

Has anyone got any idea of even which direction to start off in?

I did it earlier with two grows to spare ...

Hint:

1. See where you can put grows before you come over the green button and then recharge - a common theme in MOFI! It's quite tight to find the spots, but it should give you plenty of grows to play with after you've finished the first half of the gems.
2. For the second half of the gems, see where you need to stand to avoid wasting grows due to gems being in the way

Hope it helps the way some of the hints have helped me popo, but give me a shout if you need a bit more, as I'm trying not to give too much away at once!

I have tried going straight down to start with and going left (or up top on the screen. I have managed to get round to the bottom but then can't place any grows where I need them. I've tried doing all sorts but my brain is getting very tired.

I get the grow gloves
I stand before the round button! So I can recharge when I had my first grows put
I had to be fast to recharge and slide cos those grows will explode any second!

where to put grows?
I put grow on each end of the first 2 columns in the water, so south and north
A grow after the first crossing so I stand on the first column
and 1 grow after the second column

then the first sliding part
I slide first up then down, then to right then up again and wait (time to save game) before the grows pop

I now have 9 grows left and on the ice!

second part for grows
then I put 1 grow
(when you reload, you see the slidebar at the bottom of your screen)
put a grow in your column in the slidebar, slide to there
your next slide will be diagonal so that only grow is not further away
so I slide down and wait

stand here to put more grows (otherwise you can't put grows where you want them)
1 diagonal up
1 grow before the gem on the right (this one I take in the next part)
1 grow in the water at the end of the third column
1 grow at the end of the fourth column, so in the corner

I slide thendiagonal, right, down, right

I put 1 grow before the gem in front of me and slide to there
I get that gem on the left too before all grows pop again

Last part
I put a grow behind me in the water, at the end of the row I'm on
I put a grow at the end of the fourth column in the water
I still have 1 grow left

I slide right then up and finally left

While I was preparing that walkthru I saw your response.

It's not a tiny clue but the whole solution

If you only want to know how you have to slide, you can only highlight those parts. Then you can puzzle out where the grows yourselfs.

Such a mega spoiler was only so white piece I thought I could make it in smaller parts. So here it is!!

When you say columns, do you mean up and down on my screen? If I don't get this bit right none of the rest makes sense.

If I put one each end of the first two columns, and one just past the first crossing and one just past the second crossing, when I get back down from the first slide up I can't go right because there's a grow in the way.

Well I finally made it but not without a slight modification to your solution to where to put the first grows. Where you said to put them in the water at the ends of the columns I couldn't see the spot I had to put the second lot of grows, I was too high up. So I changed it to...

1 just above gem in second column, 1 grow just above gem in first column, 1 gem just past junction of first column, 1 in the water at bottom of first column, and 1 to the right of junction of bottom of second column. And you don't need one at the bottom of the second column at all because you wait at the top till the grows burst.

Anyway, I managed to decode your solution and that's all that matters. Thanks Erwin.

Aagghh!

Thanks for the hints above folks, but they are driving me insane as is ths level. How does one slide diagonally? What is the sidebar? Are columns, the paths that run north-south (vertically), with rows (not mentioned) running east-west?
What am I missing or misunderstanding?
Can someone please help?

You slide diagonal by clicking with the mouse to where you wanna go. I don't know if left/up key will work on ice.

Columns are top/bottom, verticaly and row are left/right, horisontal.

Sidebar in this matter I don't know

The 'Slidebar' is what Erwin was calling the strip across the bottom of the screen when you save or load, the dark bar that slides across. He was using it as a reference point.

Thanks folks but still no good. This one really has me stumped. The slightly fractured instructions above have left me confused and frustrated. No offense to those who posted them.
Any chance of someone giving a complete walkthrough or personal message or a video or something from the very start? I am totally lost on this one!

Stand as shown in picture.
Fire GROW at 1 and 2. Go back to GROW pad to reload and follow the yellow path. Wait until the GROWs shatter.
Fire GROW at 3, 4, 5, 6 and follow the red path. Wait until the GROWs shatter.
Fire GROWs at 7, 8, 9 and follow the black path. Don't wait.
Fire GROW at 10 and follow the purple path. Wait for the GROWs to shatter.
