New Level - Simplicity

Post by Lucky-Luc » Mon May 03, 2010 3:45 pm

Well, every once in a while I rediscover that RTW is actually a pretty great game and I feel the need to create a level. Or two. The problem is that it's not quite easy to get back in the swing of things - which means that this level is probably a lot easier than my older levels.

Also, I looked at some of my old levels again, and I have to say that some of them are pretty unfair, which is okay for people who like this kind of level, but kind of annoying to others. So this (and the next) level obey the following basic rule: Everything is visible right from the beginning.

So, enjoy this supposedly not too hard level! :D

Hi Luc! Great to see you back on RTW :D :D

I can tell you now that these aren't any easier than your previous levels. In fact they're going to take a lot of working out.
I haven't got there yet.
Back later ... much, much later. 8)

So, this is either a much tougher nut than I intended it to be or simply very uninteressting...

Well, anyway, just in case it's the first one: I admit that the level does contain one pretty fast action part (or two slightly slower ones). Some hints:
- You obviously have to block the TP in order to get any boxes into the middle area. Boxes alone don't suffice for this job, though, so you'll also have to use the chomper.
- You can collect most of the coins in the left part right away, but you'd better leave two of them where they are (for the quick solution, at least).
- Use the top left corner! It's not just there for symmetry reasons.
- Also for the quick solution: Don't be afraid to block your way on the right! You can also get to the other side via TP.
Good luck! :D

My main problem is getting enough boxes to do anything.
I'd already worked out the bit about the helper, but that didn't get me very far.

Ah, okay, didn't think about that. As I said before, don't be afraid to block your way on the right. Anayway, these are the three boxes you can send through the TP:

Okay, I've tried my best but I can't do it. I believe I know what has to be done but I guess I'm not fast enough and I don't see another route, sorry.

Looking at the image I think it's this:
Get to the top (through the teleporter), then go to the top row of three boxes. Left box goes down, right box goes down, middle one goes sideways. Success!
Rest in peace, Kym. I hardly knew ya.
Rest in peace, Marinus. A bright star, you were ahead of me on my own tracks of thought. I miss you.

Okay, I really did not expect this to be such a stinker, sorry  .

Here's more or less a walkthrough, especially focusing on the action part, as it's probably the most difficult one.

1. Create the position shown in the image.
2. Go to the red spot and wait there.
3. As soon as the chomper is on the yellow spot and turns to you, run!
4. Go through the teleporter as quickly as possible and push the box back through. Be sure to take the lower path, as the chomper will behave differently if you take the upper one!
5. If everything works fine, the TP should now be blocked by chomper (green) and box (blue). If not, I'm really sorry, then the action part is simply too tricky.
6. Go through the TP, collect the two coins, go through TP again and collect the other two coins, push down the boxes.
7. Do as Muzo said. Push these boxes through the TP two times and then into the water to make your way to the remaining coins.
8. In the end, enter the lower TP from the right again and collect the last to coins. Don't let the chomper bite you!
9. You can push the box back through the TP to fill the water hole in the top right corner and collect the bonus coin. The other one is simply about speed.
10. Done!

I really hope the action part is not too difficult. I'm sorry if that ruined the puzzle  .
Lukas.

Hi Lukas
Made it with your hints. Thanks!
Loved the symmetric outlines and the challenging action part.
Great design! Hope you've more of it in the pipeline. :D

Lukas - I can't do it, I'm afraid. Probably due to old arthritic fingers :(

Followed your instructions to the letter, but over and over again this is what happens:
