Those circles are probably going into the ground (you can't see them because you can't see through the ground).

They would probably come to help early on in the storyline, considering their planet is in danger with all the Z-Bots loose.

Like Billy Bob said, the rings do indeed go into the ground. And that isn't snow, it's particles from something nearby.
