Howdy Y'all!!!!!

Just popped in for a quick peek, to say hello, and AWESOME job on the Secret Worlds!!!!!!! :D :D :D Haven't had a lot of time to play it (14 hours so far...cough...cough  ) But now that we are stalled out on the house AGAIN  I figured I'd check my email, and low and behold there was the invitation to try her out. Happy Day!

Anyway, can I join in with a few quirks of my own?

1. My policy has always been: Cats over kids. When a cat sasses you, it's frustratingly cute, but what can you do with an 8-year-old-going-on-30 step-daughter with a higher IQ and quicker wit than you?????
2. I am anal when it comes to routines: 8:15 a.m. for coffee and a smoke, grab a bagel at the same coffee shop, 5 days a week, 50 weeks a year, three years in a row.
3. Blue ink, fine point for signatures, inter-office notes are black, fine point, and pencil for schedules, sharpened after every use, or every five minutes
4. I have to sleep facing the window with my back to the door :?
5. I'd rather be muddy and smiling, then tidy and bored...not the best quirk for a receptionist in a law firm, but I'm surviving :P
6. My poor grandmother tried for years to teach me how to bake bread, but the only good thing that came out the lessons was that Dad always had blocks to put the car on.
7. Lucky number 13! Born on the 13th, under a full moon!
8. Can NEVER get through an entire rendition of Amazing Grace, The Old Rugged Cross, or How Great Thou Art without bawling my eyes out, even if it's only an instramental! :)
I'm not as think as you drunk I am...*Hic*

...I'm just a Blonde!

Hi Jersey,

Nice to see you back again, had to laugh when you mentioned those hymns. I cry my eyes out at them too. They were my Scottish grandmother's favourites.

Amazing Grace was one of my wedding hymns, maybe that's why I cry.

I had better join in. Here are some not very interesting facts/quirks about me:

(1) I have never seen an episode of "Friends".

(2) I wear the same (washed) Tottenham knickers and socks to every football game for luck.

(3) I have two small tattoos (had them for 20 years!)

(4) I get electric shocks from my husband everytime he kisses me when he returns from work since we got a new kitchen floor!

(5) I never ever eat breakfast - just strong coffee.

(6) This is the worst one but I feel a need to confess :? I once killed a catfish because I saw it attacking all the other goldfish and killing them! I tried to flush it down the loo but it came back twice! Sorry

(7) You could go bowling and use my homemade bread for a ball!

1. I don't drink coffee, but I like (and need) chocolate milk the same way coffee drinkers like (and need) coffee.

2. I'm allmost clinicly blind witout my glasses/contact lenses.

3. I think of my car like it's allmost a person. Everytime it reaches a new thousand on the milage (meassured in kilometres, of course) I tell it "congratulations" and pat it on the dashboard.

4. I'm a sucker for TV-series. I have for instance seen every single episode of Friends ever broadcasted in Denmark (which is all of them but the last).

5. The weather doesn't like me. Every time I need to drive a longer distance, the weater is really bad. The last to incidents involved a hurricane and a snowstorm (not at the same time).

6. I could live on chocolate and bananas if I allowed myself to do it. :)

Talking of bananas. I have had a banana every day of my life for as long as I can remember, which is a long time.

I also can't do anything until I have had my morning forum fix.

I wouldn't thank anyone for buying me a box of chocolates, I hate them. But I do love Cadburys Buttons and Flakes.

I love cold baked beans. :?

Hello Ladies! Glad to be back, if only for a little while. The house is going excrutiatingly slow. We're only 2.5 months behind schedule, and since we've put in our notice for the end of the month, we have to out of the apartment by the 31st of March. We don't even have the walls painted, electric heaters in, hot water tank and pump for the well installed, no kitchen cabinets, no toilet (although the hot tub is snugly in place  ) no flooring in place, and we're still waiting for the electrician to hook up lights so we can work in the dark.

Needless to say, we are both still working full-time, and other than the electric and cabinitry, the rest of the tasks are up to us...if these lazy, good-for-nothing drywallers would stay out of the drunk tank long enough to finish the job, we'll be done...extremely tired from all the round-the-clock work, but we'll be completed on time.

Lesson learned - don't bother hiring contractors, do everything yourself, it'll get done faster.

OMG...when I read that you eat them right out of the can I almost had coffee come out of my nose. I am not lying...My husband, at this very moment, is eating cold baked beans right out of the can! His favorite snack...

Some more facts about me:

A major coffee freak...I just received the grind and brew coffee maker as a gift and made a pot of decaf when I arrived home. I usually drink an entire pot in the morning

Favorite snack is gourmet olives and cheese (brie or goat cheese). I buy regular olives and spice them up myself.

I have had a banana, apple, and orange at some point everyday for as long as I can remember.

I am a huge movie freak...I own over 700. Latest one...The Terminal with Tom Hanks.

I am fussy about TV shows...I like CSI, Without a trace...crime shows...a few comedy's and E.R. Forgive me for what I am about to admit...

Yes, it's true...I love Amazing Race and Survivor. There I said it

Hmmn... little known facts... is there anything that hasn't already been revealed???

When I was a little fella I was impressed that always managed (without fail) to put my left sock on my left foot & my right sock on my right foot even though I didn't know which was the left sock & which was the right. It was quite a few years later that I realised they were both the same

I love cricket. Back at boarding school we had sport on a Wednesday afternoon. One school term we had 8 weeks straight where it rained only on the Wednesday morning/lunchtime enough to cancel our game and not a drop any other day of the week.

Before I met my wife I only ever went out with 2 other girls. My first girlfriend I was with for 7 years  (year 3 (cute I know) until year 10), my second girlfriend dumped me after half a day!

I once lost 10kg (22lb) in just 12 days - and I didn't weigh that much to start with - no special exercise, no special diet... it was on my trip to Fiji with my wife.

Back in primary school (year 6) I was a popular choice for other kids to do their drawings for their weekly project books. So much so that during the entire year after everyone else had done about 15-20, I had only completed 1

Sure I'll come up with some more...

1. Always, always, always write with PURPLE ink.
(Please Patrick - or somebody out there - can we have purple smileys ??? please, please, pleeeeease.)

2. Love chocolate. Got to be dark, none of that sweet milky stuff.

3. Can't bowl, don't play any of those outside ball games. Even tried golf a few times with my husband. Forget it. Eyesight too bad. Waiting to have surgery but after wearing contacts for 40 years - and glasses at the same time for the past 20, the chances of much success are getting slimmer.

4. I'm not getting any slimmer.

5. I'm a gardener. Would much rather cut grass than clean house – but I’m a neat freak. I want everything in the right place so it’s easy to find again. And that’s in my gardening shed as well as the house.

6. Always arguing with my husband about the shape of the flower beds. I want them soft and curvy and he likes square edges made with landscape timbers. I cut the grass - he shouldn't care how I make them !!!!

7. TV – don’t watch any sitcoms. Can’t stand them. Agree with Lori, I love Survivor, Amazing Race, and also American Idol, Desperate Housewives, and because I never saw it the first time around, we’re watching “Dallas”. Miss watching Coronation Street

8. Favorite food is Macaroni cheese, and cheese, and chocolate, and cheese, and salad – I love lettuce – and cheese. Get the idea. I also like cold baked beans, and they're my brother's favorite food.

9. I’m a Brit and I knit, not sweaters (jumpers). Only baby blankets. Have run out of grandkids, but I just keep knitting.

10. Not much of a people person. I much prefer cats. Have one daughter and 3 stepsons. Thank goodness they’re all grown. I don’t have to worry with them. Also enjoy photography and bird watching.

That’s enough about me.

Here's yet another tom-boy. Now more of a tomb-oy!

I had kids late (had my son when I was 37 and my daughter at 40).

Like Lori, I am madly devoted to cooking and regularly make my own bread (Irish soda bread is a favourite) and pizza dough. (This is not so good for the waistline!)

Unlike Lori, I am madly untidy. Luckily, my husband, children and dogs are also untidy. The place looks like a jumble sale hit by an atom bomb!

Like Janet I always write with black ink, and it has to be a very thin point pen.

I was a teacher for 17 years - taught 14-18 year olds in a tough area of London. :(

Hey, I've just had an idea for a new contest.

As you are all saying what sort of pen you write with, what about a handwriting contest. You send a sample of your handwriting and we have to guess who you are. I think it's called graphology. It could be called 'Decipher Me'.

We watched all the episodes of Friends before it finished. We're all addicted to ER, and Desperate Housewives. I have to admit I'm a Trekkie - loved Next Generation best (though I don't like the latest series Enterprise). We also like Stargate.

Couldn't live without tv!

Desperate Housewives, Lost, CSI, CSI Miami, CSI New York (not that fussy about it though), Mythbusters (Discovery Channel), Survivor  , Third Watch, The Apprentice, How It's Made (Discovery), House Doctor (W Network), every episode of Golden Girls, every episode of Friends, re-runs of Yes, Dear. British shows: re-runs of Are You Being Served, Keeping Up Appearances and Most Haunted.

Since Ted decided to get interested in '24' after the end of Season 3, he decided to borrow his sister's collection, and we watched all three seasons in 2 weeks so he could start watching Season 4...it may ge a good drama, with lots of cliffhangers, but pu-lease! How many times can someone get kidnapped in one day?!?!?!?!?

Sadly, he's also watched every episode of all 13 seasons of Simpsons, at least 5 times!!!!

I thought she could be a little spiteful, but she still made me chuckle. I think my favorite character had to be Dorothy, she was always so straight-laced and smart compared to the other two. I always felt sorry for Rose, she really wasn't the "sharpest tool in the shed", but I loved her stories about growing up with all the wacky red herring tales and cow stories. I remember one episonde where she started telling the girls about the red herring circus, and I though Dorothy and Blanche were going to loose it. Obviously that was one of those "Tim Conway" moments where he said or did something that the others weren't expecting and they'd forget what they were saying and could only laugh.

Carol Burnett and Friends was my allllllll time favorite show.
